The Wrath Of God Lyrics
Tear at the voice inside
Dig a deeper tomb and all the self can finally resonate, resonate, resonate, resonate
Tread on the path of pride
You can be the god and let the faith become your enemy, enemy, enemy, enemy
Breathe redemption into wasted life
Closer, closer
Find the wrath of God inside your eyes
Closer, closer
Chorus:
Breathe deep
And as the fear before you falls
I know the pain is so unsettling
Breathe deep
So now you’ve built a thousand walls
But in the end it’s all unraveling
Stand with a worthless sign
Wave it in the path of every face you cannot tolerate, tolerate, tolerate, tolerate
Breathe redemption into wasted life
Closer, closer
Find the wrath of God inside your eyes
Closer, closer
(Chorus)
This is the last day that you will regret
Wake from your sleep and never forget
This is the last day that you will regret
Closer, closer
(Chorus)
Closer, closer, closer, closer
Dig a deeper tomb and all the self can finally resonate, resonate, resonate, resonate
Tread on the path of pride
You can be the god and let the faith become your enemy, enemy, enemy, enemy
Closer, closer
Find the wrath of God inside your eyes
Closer, closer
Breathe deep
And as the fear before you falls
I know the pain is so unsettling
Breathe deep
So now you’ve built a thousand walls
But in the end it’s all unraveling
Wave it in the path of every face you cannot tolerate, tolerate, tolerate, tolerate
Closer, closer
Find the wrath of God inside your eyes
Closer, closer
Wake from your sleep and never forget
This is the last day that you will regret
Closer, closer

"Unintentionally, The Wrath Of God almost acts as a sequel to Fiction Kingdom. The song essentially begs the listener to wake from their spiritual coma, and live in reverence of God and his power. I aim these lyrics at those who live their lives for themselves, with no care for their own spiritual welfare. I ask them to evaluate their place in this life and to open their eyes to God’s presence. You can ignore God, but that doesn’t make him disappear. Your choice to disbelieve doesn’t change God’s objective presence." - Demon Hunter
Yet because the wicked do not fear God, it will not go well with them, and their days will not lengthen like a shadow. -Ecclesiastes 8: 13

great song =D
thats a good way to put this song. i dont really have anything to top that, other than this is a kickass song!!
is it even legal to rock this hard? musically this is one of the greatest songs ive ever heard and great lyrics too. that music bridge after the closer part at the end is technically tight and amazing!
"is it even legal to rock this hard?" lol, your funny headbangforjesus. This song truly is amazing. DH for life!!
wow im so amazed just like weeks ago I realize dhow much i love metal but hate when they bash on god like in salvation from 5fdp but I didnt think christian metal could be this good and I figure dout august burns red is christian as well as asIlaydying and haste the day I fell much bete rnow listeing to this stuff and yea jesus freak said all that needed to be said I guess lol so idk wut else to say
I think they should get DH to play in the day of Apocalypse...lol. Guys it's such an awesome song, with awesome lyriics and meaning, but DH songs refer to people who do not believe or face problems... Not even a word about the believers... :-\
But that what Jesus said, right? "Sick people need the cure" and DH cure such people. Others, who are "healthy" (believers) do not need a cure!
There are a few songs talking about believers. For example, Screams of the Undead, Undying, Storm the Gates of Hell, Relentless Intolerance, Grand Finale and more. Hmmm... I guess saying a few was a bit of an understatement.
I personally preferred some of their other songs over this, but it's all good. It's good to see that there is such a great Christian music out there.
This song is about us being sinners of pride... we fall short of God's glory and now we must take His wrath... Pride is the ultimate sin that led Adam and Eve to disobedience. The temptation of the serpent is a test, a test that they failed because of the pride within them. The pride of being all knowing...
"Stand with a worthless sign Wave it in the path of every face you cannot tolerate, tolerate, tolerate, tolerate" Gotta be about Westboro Baptist Church.
Ear at the voice inside- The kingdom of The FATHER is at the heart of one's being. The voice.
Dig a deeper tomb so that the self can finally resonate- As you come into the light of The FATHER, you become aware of yourself, of your iniquity, and it feels suffocating. Like you were being buried alive. But in this coming into the light, once you view the instructions written on the heart of your being, you become conscious of your actions and decisions and finally the light inside of you is a beacon outside of you.
But if you tread on the path of pride, the faith of Truth will become your enemy. Pride is often personified as a satan, an adversary of men, always go come before the fall. Because there is One and there is none beside Him.
Breath redemption into wasted life. Closer, find the wrath of God inside your eyes.- Eat of the tree of life. Follow the Torah. Follow the instructions. Alot of people think that they can just believe there is a god and do what they want, especially in all branches of Catholicism. Including Christianity. Also including Judaism. Paganism, any ism . That just not the way it works. Faith without works is dead, because you influence so many in your time here.
Chorus- As one follows the instruction of the Father, which the son did come and teach, turn back many to, the fear begins to waver against wisdom and understanding, though this is a painful process because so many others have yet to heed the magnitude of their behavior, the effects of their impact on the earth and others.
Stand with a worthless...- This is addressing the whistle blowers, and the mystics, of all religions. People are continuously subject to fear and wonder, and these things are trivial and worthless when it comes to the day of God's wrath. Condemnation is not a just duty, because it is ourselves we are supposed to be concerning ourselves with as far as conduct. And we are to clothe and feed our enemies, to love them.
Turn back to the instructions, the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom. Without it waits only His wrath.
