I Am You

This one seems rather simple: He is uniform with the world, a part of the brokenness, and in the chorus strives to break apart.

I think desper got part of it right, but it seems like he is also talking about christians who try so hard to break free from the chains of the enemy alone. "I am waiting for that blade to fall and cut me free of this" But that is not the way God made us to be for we are supposed to make this walk together and we need to break free from our desire to walk alone. Hince the chorus "Time to burn this design, to free ourselves We will burn this together Time to fuse this design, to make us one We will burn this together" and also the bridge kinda up gives this away as well "I will rise I will break this You will rise You will break this We will rise We will take them down"

Whenever I hear the chorus I feel it like it's talking about taking down the New Wolrd Order and the Illuminati.

"I am you"

That one line is key in this song. I think Ryan simply means, that there are other Christians that struggle with the same things written in this song, and together, "We will rise, and we will take them down"

The first verse is about a man realizing all that evil that is insinde him, that is part of him. It is kind of a collection of bad omens every single one of them saying "I am you"

The first time the prechorus is about the thoughts of that man realizin his sins and the evil inside him. Realizing all that he just wants to get rid of this meaningless life he is living.

Time to burn this design, to free ourselves We will burn this together Time to fuse this design, to make us one We will burn this together

The chorus is gods voice telling to "burn" the plans we made to free us from this life out of our own strength. It is the offering to give this meaningless life a meaning so it is worth being lived.

A new voice for the broken souls in a world awaiting its death- I am you An everlasting well of life for the hopeless and the wrecked I am the dying self, the narrow path, the calm that conquered the storm- I am you The cross hairs on the head of shame, the negation to conform

The second verse is the voice of Jesus tellin what HE did for US and revealing himself as another part of this very man from the beginning. He is telling him that he gave EVERYTHING for him and that he is the one "narrow path" that is giving his life a meaning.

This time the prechorus is about Jesus. Since he knew pretty much from the beginning that he had to die one day he was pretty much waiting for his death. He tried to change this fate but in the end he pretty much knew how it would end.

I will rise I will break this You will rise You will break this We will rise We will take them down Rise and break them down Down, down, down Break them down

This last part is kind of Jesus resurrection and the revelation in short. First Jesus will rise and break the chains of death, then all human will rise and break the chains of death and in the end those who are chosen by god will rise with Jesus at our side to "take down" the sin and finally be free.
