He's dead drunk asleep on the side of the road (No one sees him)
Or passed out on pills in a stranger's room (She don't know him)
Don't tell his sweetheart, he's not coming home

Ladies and gentlemen
This is my blood! Yeah!

My brother's eyes are the same color as mine
Nobody knows if I see it

When he says, "brother, look at the shape I'm in. You gotta help me out"
When he says, "there's still time left to make amends.
You're in my trust, you're in my blood, I just need a friend"

And!

I need fifty bucks to pay off some old debts (You can spare it)
Or cover for me while I sort out some shit (Just this one time)

He lies when he opens his mouth
The truth never comes out
But I, believe it all

When my brother says,
"oh have you seen the shape I'm in? It's all because of you"
When he says, "don't even try to make amends
You're in my thoughts, you're in my blood, even in my dreams"

Sleeps through the night
Everything is alright
And his teeth are all white
And his face fits the type
Everything he says is true
His girlfriend, she loves him too
But his head starts to hurt
And his tie isn't straight
Goes to work early
But gets home so late
Lies down in his room
Go to bed, she'll be home soon
Wakes with a start
And she isn't in bed
So he flies down the stairs
Past the guy from that band
Is he wearing her perfume?
All because of you

When the mirror says, "just look at the shape that you're in
I offer you no forgiveness, not even in dreams
And the mirror says, "it's far too late to make amends, you got nowhere left to run"

Then the mirror breaks

I know which side you're on
I know which side you're on
I know which side you're on

I know which side you're on [x3]
Sleeps through the night(Everything is alright)
His teeth are all white(And his face fits the type)
Everything! (Everything)
Everything! (Everything)
You say is true
Nothings real!

Am I?!
Am I?!
Am I?!
On the same side?!

When he says, "brother, look at the shape I'm in, you gotta help me out" When he says, "there's no time left to make amends, you're in my trust, you're in my blood, I just need a friend"

I need 15 bucks to sort out some debts. (You can spare it) Or cover for me while I sort out some shit (Just this one time)

HE LIES WHEN HE OPENS HIS MOUTH The truth never comes out BUT I, believe it all...

When my brother says, "oh have you seen the shape I'm in? It's all because of you" When he says, "don't even try to make amends, you're in my thoughts, you're in my blood, EVEN IN MY dreams"

Sleeps through the night Everything is alright And his teeth are all white And his face fits the type Everything he says is true His girlfriend, she loves him too But his head starts to hurt And his tie isn't straight Goes to work early And gets home so late Lies down in his room Go to bed, she'll be home soon He wakes with a start And she isn't in bed So he flies down the stairs Its the guy from that band Is her wearing her perfume; All because of you?

Thank you for correcting some lyrics...

to be honest I gave it about 2 or 3 listens before I put it up here. As I went out today I heard a lot if not everything you had different but I couldn't change it. Now I did and you reassured me. Thanks.

    This song is amazing.

    "Even in my dreams"

(well now, this line seems a bit familiar to:

"Even in our dreams we're so afraid of the way we'll offset who we are" -thursday's song For The Workforce, Drowning

that line from FTW,D seemingly refers to our "type" and how we go through life so "sure" of who we are, also using the imagery of a typeface [font] being offset...which leads to the echo in this line:

    "face fits the type"

"There's no time left to make amends"

"There's no room left to make amends" -thursday's song Steps Ascending

"Am I on the same side?"

"When the curtain falls and you're caught on the other side" -thursday's song M. Shepard

This seems to have a some parallels to the film: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Lost_Weekend

the film was based on a novel of the same title: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_LostWeekend%28novel%29 by Charles R. Jackson about a writer who drinks heavily out of frustration over the accusation that he had an affair with one of his buddies while in college . The reference to the gay affair is removed in the film, and the main character's descent into an alcoholic binge is blamed on writer's block.

The lush also has a brother who is trying to help them abstain from alcohol, also lying and giving excuse for their alcoholic habit.

Great Song Thursday! Sounds like when someone has a problem(drugs, drinking, etc) and is hitting bottom. When you get that feeling that no one cares or even notices you. People with addiction problems begin to lie to get by and it's so easy to believe them because you never had any reason to doubt them in the past. I like the interlude part of the song where everything is a dream and the exact opposite of this reality.

Still some mistakes in these lyrics - There is no F-bomb, as has been confirmed now. The word that sort of sounds like "fucking" is actually "forgiveness". Just letting everyone know.

Is there a way to edit the posted lyrics? Well... Here's the correct lyrics so far. I don't hear any mistakes at all, but you never know until it comes out with the official lyrics:

He's dead drunk asleep on the side of the road(no one sees him) or passed out on phills in a strangers room(she dont know him) dont tell his sweetheart he's not coming home. ladies and gentlemen, this is my blood. yeah, my brthers eyes are the same color as mine. nobody knows if i see it when he says"brother look at the shape i'm in, you've got to help me out..." or when he says "theres still time left to make amends: you're in my trust, you're in my blood. i just need a friend...and i need fifty bucks to pay off some old debts (you can spare it)" or, "cover for me while i sort out some shit(just this one time)" he lies. when he opens his mouth, the truth never comes out but i believe it all when my brother says "oh have you seenthe shape im in? its all because of you." and he says "dont even try to make amends you're in my thoughts, you're in my blood even in my dreams: he sleeps though the night, everything is alright and his teeth are allwhite and his face fits the type. everything he says is true. his girlfriend, she loves him too..but his head starts to hurt and his tie isnt straight..he goes to work early and gets homeso late, lies down in his room ("go to bed she'll be home soon") but he wakes with a start and she isnt in bed, so he flies down the stairs past the guy from that band ("was he wearing her perfume?") its all because of you when the mirror says, "just look at the shape that you're in, i offer you no forgiveness not even in dreams" and the mirror says "its far to late to make amends. you've got nowhere left to run" when the mirror breaks. i know which side you're on: you sleep through the night, everything is alright and your teeth are all white and your face fits the type. everything you say is true. nothings real i know which side you're on. am i on the same side?

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

American Town
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran shares a short story of reconnecting with an old flame on “American Town.” The track is about a holiday Ed Sheeran spends with his countrywoman who resides in America. The two are back together after a long period apart, and get around to enjoying a bunch of fun activities while rekindling the flames of their romance.
