It's not, it's not what you give but it's what you kept
It's not, it's not who you kill but it's who you left

I am I am running in my head
I am I am lying on my left
I am I am growing in my bed
I am I am ...

It's not, it's not how you speak but it's what you said
It's not, it's not what you seek but it's what you have

I am I am running in my head
I am I am lying on my left
I am I am growing in my bed
I am I am...

It's not, it's not what it seems ... It's not what it seems
It's not, it's not what you leave but it's what you hold

I am I am running in my head
I am I am lying on my left
I am I am growing in my bed
I am I am ...

okay, this is gonna be a stretch. i agree with chostickthugz's interpretation and see another layer. i think it is about being present...not being worried about the future..ideas or beliefs...things that really don't exist. "its not, its not" is relating to things not 'supposed' to be, kinda like social norms and social protocal...things that don;t exist. "i am, i am" verses is in the present and listening to the mind and body...and as a result, spitiually growing.

I love this song in a deep, visceral way. i feel the song is about things not ending up as clearly causal as one had naively expected. it is a song about stasis, and the feeling of things turning out less than ideal but realism and lowered expectation comes to define the outlook of an adult in life. i am, i am, lying on my left. in bed. just being whatever i am. as if things turned out the way they did, because i didn't really care anyway. and I'm ok with that, because that is our lot in life. grow up, grow old, grow cold.

This line captures the meaning of the song pretty clearly:

"It's not, it's not what it seems ... It's not what it seems."

The song is about how the external life can differ from the internal life--it's not what it seems. He is not what he seems. His actions are not what they seem. It's the meaning behind his actions that is essential to who he is--the overt can obfuscate the truth.

"It's not, it's not what you give but it's what you kept It's not, it's not who you kill but it's who you left"

^Looking at the actions of this person will not lead you to the correct insight about who he is--you can observe what a person gives in a relationship and who a person hurts, but it's not as obvious what a person keeps for themselves and doesn't share with others (and why) or the root of the personality traits that lead him to harm someone else years later.

"It's not, it's not how you speak but it's what you said. It's not, it's not what you seek but it's what you have."

^This person's delivery is at odds with the intent of his speech, which is to say that this is someone who hides his true intentions under a seemingly lovely patina. To see the truth about him, you need to look at the results he is trying to elicit despite the flowery language. Words are being used to conceal thoughts. The second line is a little less clear, a little more potentially nuanced. I actually think it's from the perspective of the guy described, saying that this life isn't what he wants, but it's what he has.

And then the repeated stanza is from the man's perspective:

"I am I am running in my head I am I am lying on my left I am I am growing in my bed I am I am..."

^Same meaning, from his perspective. His body is in bed, his intentions and thoughts, however, are diametrically opposed to what his physical form might be doing. You can't look at this guy's overt self and understand him or know him; the truth about who he really is and what he really wants is... not what it seems.

2nd verse- who u kill but it's who u left the survival fittest/ dog-eat-dog world turn us into cold hearted animals those only looking forward to see materials (money, fancy car, etc) to do that u have to compete with others then step on other's heads to stand taller than others (killing) many ppl are too busy doing that than spending time with their families (ppl who left)

3rd standza- "it's not what u seek but what u have" rather than seeking for such ideal life stlyle (Hollywood stars) look around who's around u and what u have just like precious familiy u love so much

the chorus- i am i am... everyone is going through many thoughts about these issues (it's not, it's not parts) in hesitations and in the end you really dont come up with the final solutions

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

This is a sequel to 2001's "Reckless Abandon", and features the band looking back on their clumsy youth fondly.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/
