Don't try and tell me you've been looking at me.
Cause I've been looking at you.
And I can read what you think. Yea.
Don't cut no corners when you're talking to me.
Like I don't know how it is,
But I can see all of it.

We always have to wait (wait)
By the choice we had to make. (make)
You sold yourself so short,
Is this the way to carry on?
In the most unexpected places

Don't try and tell me you've been thinking of us,
Cause I will never believe you now you're shit out of luck, yeah.
Don't cut no corners when you're looking at me.
Like you don't know how it is

We always have to wait (wait)
By the choice we had to make. (make)
You sold yourself so short,
Is this the way to carry on?
In the most unexpected places

We always have been caged
By the choices we make.
You sold yourself so short.
Is that the way to carry on?
In the most unexpected places. I see changes.
In the most unexpected places, I see changes.
We sold ourselves so short.
Is this the way to carry on?
Is this the way to carry on?

Hey, PARALESS, this song does not suck! I'm not deaf. You are. This song is awesome. If you have something bad to say, at least say it in a more peaceful manner. Gawrsh, don't people have manners anymore? What if someone who was blind told you that you were ugly? Yeah. Bite that. Eat that. Suck that.

    Burn.

yes, it is on santi. and i honestly do not know about this album, but the first half of the song really is relatable. it reminded me of the end of the college application process and going to college, but i only think that's because of the position i'm in at the moment. i highly doubt that is what the song is really about. i think it's about decisions in general and having to stnd by them, even when we made an unfavourable choice. i think the ending relates back to once we've made the decision and whether or not we can fix it by taking a chance and making other choices or if we just have to tought it out and wait it out.

sounds something along the lines of a cheater in a relationship.

"Don't cut no corners when you're talking to me Like I don't know how it is but I can see it"

the girl thinks he is oblivious to what is going on, trying to coat it with lies. etc.

    any other ideas?

The way he sings a lot of this really reminds me of Claudio Sanchez from Coheed and Cambria for some reason. I think because of the way he throws in high pitched "yeahs" and "woahs" and "ohs" when he sings and has such unique enunciation.

he says forgot/forgotten/forget alot on this album, and he talks alot about making choices, or having a choice to be made.

Have you ever passed up an amazing event? Made the stupidest mistake ever? Want to go back in time and fix what you've done wrong? I think this is what this is about. That one choice we made that we just always want to go back and fix. It also talks about how we are judged by the choices we've made as well. Someone decides to drive after getting drunk, great person, great athlete, well liked, and he/she gets busted and the rest of their life is ruined, all because of that one choice. Our life is ruled by these choices "We always have been caged by the choices that we made."

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."
