picture perfect turned to worthless
bittersweet the taste is like ash in my mouth
love we had it you're a bad habit
I'm ready to give you up i give up

silly me for thinking honesty is something given free
i make the rules and this is how it ends

heartbreak baby is half the fun
you bring the bullets i'll bring the guns
take ten steps now turn and draw
i shoot from the hip then watch you fall

heartbreak baby is half the fun
you bring the bullets i'll bring the guns
take ten steps now turn and draw
i shoot from the hip then watch you fall

scenes of passion never lasted
your mistakes are too much to put behind
i am tired with no desire
to put together things that just fall apart

silly me for thinking honesty is something given free
i make the rules and this is how it ends

heartbreak baby is half the fun
you bring the bullets i'll bring the guns
take ten steps now turn and draw
i shoot from the hip then watch you fall

heartbreak baby is half the fun
you bring the bullets i'll bring the guns
take ten steps now turn and draw
i shoot from the hip then watch you fall
then watch you fall

silly me for thinking honesty is something given free
i make the rules and this is how it ends

heartbreak baby is half the fun
you bring the bullets i'll bring the guns
take ten steps now turn and draw
i shoot from the hip then watch you fall

heartbreak baby is half the fun
you bring the bullets i'll bring the guns
take ten steps now turn and draw
i shoot from the hip then watch you fall

when i heard the intro with the Wooaah bit, i thought it was some rave song lawl. But no, and i love it. 'You bring the bullets, I'll bring the guns' I think its about working together to end a relationship properly? Like they both have their reasons to end it but he's the one who wins the argument, sort of, 'I shoot from the hip then watch you fall' Well thats how I see it lawl xo.

A Change of Pace went downhill after the first CD. It's a shame. These lyrics seem like they were written in crayon by a 5 year old. Decent musical talent being wasted by terrible writing.

omg love the song, i think it has to do about how when you know a relationship has come to an end and that maybe one found out secrets about the other and wants them to feel pain as revenge

i freaking love this song. i believe its talking about ending a relationship as well. they talk about how the relationship was perfect and full of love "Picture perfect Turned to worthless" but then she started lying to him "Silly me for thinking honesty is something Given free," but then he took control and decided to end it "I make the rules And this is how it is" maybe even by "You bring the bullets, I'll bring the guns" he means she brought the issue "bullets" and hes going to end it "guns" because he cant take her lying and he knows its over and never going to get better because theres no more trust "Your mistakes are too much to put behind I am tired With no desire To put together things that just fall apart"

thats what it sounds like to me :)

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

This is a sequel to 2001's "Reckless Abandon", and features the band looking back on their clumsy youth fondly.

No Surprises
Radiohead
Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.
