Tina's eyes are clear chrysolite
How can we not notice her
Now they only stare at her burns
Her small voice so full of honesty

Take care of my loves
I can't hold on
Keep me alive while I die

They can't not notice her sickness
Like their own dung sprayed with perfume
They try not to hear her speaking
But they can't hear anything else

Take care of my loves
I can't hold on
Keep me alive while I die

I missed my chance
Send one more
I'm not wasting this
I missed my chance
Send one more chance
I'm not wasting this one more chance

I can't even begin to explain the impression this song left on me. It's hard to describe what I was feeling tonight as I stood there in the audience of a Flyleaf and Three Days Grace show and this song was introduced. I remember feeling ... horrified at what this woman did to herself, but amazed at how she was saved and able to live to tell Lacey her story so that others could be warned and aware. Lacey said that a woman approached her and told her that she used to think marriage and children would solve all her problems, that she'd be happy for ever after. But her husband abused her so badly that she no longer wanted to wake up in the morning so she poured gasoline on herself and lit herself on fire. She said it was such terrible pain that she just prayed for release and then she passed out in a coma. When she woke up and found that she was alive, she knew there was a god and that she had the opportunity to tell her story to others. That is true courage and faith. Praise God! Rock on, Lacey! You're beautiful! And God bless, lady.

When I was at a flyleaf concert, Lacey (the singer) said that this song is about a girl that she met at a concert who was burned by her boyfriend.

I love this song. Also the girl didn't get burned by her boyfriend really. Lacey said that her boyfriend made her do that, be he didn't treat her right, and it made her feel bad so she decided to light herself on fire.

The story about the woman who burned herself is totally correct. She was being abused at home by her husband, and things got so bad that she completely gave up hope of ever having a good life. So she lit herself on fire, and as she was standing there, burning alive, she said it was the most excruciating pain that she had ever gone through. She thought to herself "If there is a god, my pain will go away." And then she went into a coma. When she came to, she knew she had to tell her story to everyone.

It was great last night. Lacey is a really emotional singer anyway, but when she was telling this story, you could see the tears in her eyes, and the audience was absolutely captivated. It was beautiful.

I saw this in concert. Flyleaf brought back my faith, and that story was a big part of that. This really hits home.

this story is about a girl named tina who met lacey at a concert. she was burned all over, and lacey said it was almost too hard to look at her. tina said she used to be beautiful, and she got married to a man and had a baby, and everything was happy, until he started to beat her.

she said it all became too much, so she covered herself in gasoline and lit herself on fire. she said it was so excruciating that in that moment she prayed for the first time in her life: "if God is real, take my pain away" and He did; tina went into a coma, and when she awoke, she knew there was God.

Ministry
Both as a standalone and as part of the DSOTS album, you can take this lyric as read. As a matter of public record, Jourgensen's drug intake was legendary even in the 1980s. By the late 90s, in his own words, he was grappling with massive addiction issues and had lost almost everything: friends, spouse, money and had nearly died more than once. "Dark Side of the Spoon" is a both funny & sad title for an album made by a musical genius who was losing the plot; and this song is a message to his fans & friends saying he knows it. It's painful to listen to so I'm glad the "Keith Richards of industrial metals" wised up and cleaned up. Well done sir.

Fortnight
Taylor Swift
The song 'Fortnight' by Taylor Swift and Post Malone tells a story about strong feelings, complicated relationships, and secret wishes. It talks about love, betrayal, and wanting someone who doesn't feel the same. The word 'fortnight' shows short-lived happiness and guilty pleasures, leading to sadness. It shows how messy relationships can be and the results of hiding emotions. “I was supposed to be sent away / But they forgot to come and get me,” she kickstarts the song in the first verse with lines suggesting an admission to a hospital for people with mental illnesses. She goes in the verse admitting her lover is the reason why she is like this. In the chorus, she sings about their time in love and reflects on how he has now settled with someone else. “I took the miracle move-on drug, the effects were temporary / And I love you, it’s ruining my life,” on the second verse she details her struggles to forget about him and the negative effects of her failure. “Thought of callin’ ya, but you won’t pick up / ‘Nother fortnight lost in America,” Post Malone sings in the outro.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"
