Miss Murder (Director's Cut)

Wow, the original was way better. Idk why they had to include <i>Prelude 12/21</i> into the <i>Miss Murder</i> video. Either way, I think <i>Prelude 12/21</i> is just a space filler on the album. That's not to say is doesn't mean anything, because I'm sure it does. But <i>Miss Murder</i> goes way deeper than <i>Prelude 12/21</i>. Oh, by the way, don't think I'm one of those emo kids who jumped on the bandwagon when <u>Decemberunderground</u> came out. I've listened to AFI ever since <u>Black Sails at Sunset</u> came out, so I think I know my AFI. <br><center>-little known fact-</center> They may be currently known as A Fire Inside, but back in the 90's they were known as Anthems For Insubordinates.

Ok, so I think this song is about Satan. Prelude 12 21 is about someone who has sold their soul to Satan because they think Satan will love and help them: (This is what I brought you, This you can keep, This is what I brought, You may forget me, I promise to depart, Just promise one thing, Kiss my eyes and lay me to sleep

Then they realize that Satan doesnt really care and that they were naive. (This is what I thought, I thought you need me, This is what I thought, So think me naive, I promise you a heart, You promised to keep, Kiss my eyes and lay me to sleep)

Then Miss murder, specifically the chorus is about Eve, who basically took away her beautiful life because she wanted eternal beauty, life, and wisdom. The speaker is like, hey eve, if I kill myself will it make life better, and is taunting her. (Hey Miss Murder can I? Hey Miss Murder can I? Make beauty stay if I, take my life?)

Ok, the next two verses are about the Lucifer angel's fall. It talks about how he was the powerful prince of heaven and stuff and then he left behind all the beauty of heaven. In the part about "beauty will last when spiraled down," it talks about he maintained his beauty anyway.And the last part how heaven wuz sad cuz he left. With just a look they shook And heavens bowed before him. Simply a look can break your heart. The stars that pierce the sky; He left them all behind. We�re left to wonder why He left us all behind.

Dreams of his crash won�t pass Or how they all adored him. Beauty will last when spiraled down. The stars that mystify He left them all behind. And how his children cry He left us all behind

anyway, just my speculation, might not be right.

This song is about God and how the human race thinks he abandonded us because we pray and they go unanswered. God promised the human race that when we die will go to heaven and our sins will be forgivin and blah blah blah.

What's the hook, the twist within this verbose mystery? I would gladly bet my life upon it. That the ghost you love, your ray of light Will fizzle out without hope. (hope) We're the empty set just floating through, wrapped in skin, Ever searching for what we were promised. Reaching for that golden ring we'd never let go, Who would ever let us put their filthy hands upon it?

This part of the song was the dead give away for me. Basically saying whats the catch to get into heaven the golden ring being the halos.

i personly like this version better than the regular one, i lov ethe chimes?/ or xylophone in the begining. anyone understand the bunnys cuz i dont :P

The black rabbits used to symbolize ill omen and often death in olden times of yore. If you caught the making of this video the director explains that part or maybe you may have studied it in history like i did. A fact you could use to impress your history teacher? Lol. Hope I could help!

Anyway, I lurve the song and putting Prelude/MissMurder together was a great idea.

The "Ever searching for what we were promised" is prolly a reference to what he promises in the beggining of the song.

"Dreams of his crash won’t pass" Daveh just wants to seem 'him' destroy himself and he can't stop imagining it.

"Or how they all adored him" And Daveh can't get past how much everyone seems to love 'him' despite the fact that 'he' isn't so great. And that's why he wants to see him fail.

Whoever 'he' is. Someone else in the other miss murder version posted something like it's a love triangle and Daveh's in love with a girl who loves this guy and daveh wants that guys blood. Fits.

And stuff like that...

I love this version much more than the original. The intro is just so beautiful and haunting.

I thought it had something to do with suicide..but whatever, awesome song.
