Lover undo me
For weeks I've waited for your return
My head down
Eyes to the ground
My guess is a sure thing
You won't be back

Thank you for a month's worth of wooing
Your warm lips and my body for using
Six shades of mischievous gray
Sprinting through your skinny veins
It's no wonder my sense of perception
Is no better than a sailor in weather
So rough as to spill your guts
The sea swells up just enough, to keep your head up

Lover undo me
For weeks I've waited for your return
My head down
Eyes to the ground
My guess is a sure thing
You won't be back
You've all but consumed me
For days I pray for you to burn
I won't try to relive the nightlife
I had when I had you

Lot more of them need to fall
With eyes so soft and a livid cough she sighs
"Don't come near me
God damnit I am waving my colors of warning"
I am sorry darling
I'm just so sick of starving
You smile as I start my dive
Hands on hips, it parts your lips
Pushed to one side

Lover undo me
For weeks I've waited for your return
My head down
Eyes to the ground
My guess is a sure thing
You won't be back
You've all but consumed me
For days I pray for you to burn
I won't try to relive the nightlife
I had when I had you

And those six shades that I spoke of
Are just acts you try to pull off
Just as a cavity
Swallowing the things you need
Yet you skim what won't repeat
All demands what I've been asking
Your arms like a tragedy
Suffering from sun
I will cut myself off never to be turned back on

Lover undo me
(I will cut myself off never to be turned back on)
You've all but consumed me
(I will cut myself off never to be turned back on)
Lover undo me
(I will cut myself off never to be turned back on)

You'll end up starved out in some attic
Alone and afraid watching reruns of past times
Your hair falling out in heaps
The bridges you've burned
The ashes you keep

La Amoureux translates roughly to "the one in love". I looked it up in an online translator, so it most likely isn't exact.

LA AMOREAUX, NEED TO FALL With eyes so soft and a livid cough She sighs, "Don't come near me" Goddamnit, I am waving my colors of warning." I am sorry, darling. I'm just so sick of starving. You smile as I start my dive. Hands on hips and PARTIAL LIPS pushed to one side.

yeah so what you have in capital letters are both wrong, andreaaaa. this is from the actual lyric sheet. its "La amoureux me defont" (its french) and "hands on hips impartial lips"

try being right if you're going to correct somebody.

"its no wonder my sense of perception is no better than a sailor in weather"

this song is my favorite on the album. its beautiful yet sad. the translated "the one in love" makes sense in context to the song. he is in love with a drug addict. and he knows that no matter what he does she'll never come back.

Yeah, it's "La Amoureux me defont", which was intended to mean "Lover, you destroy me", but it's really just jibberish. And it's "a labored cough", not a livid cough. The end of this song is the best part by far.

I don't know a lick of French and that was immediately obvious to me. I wonder why every lyrics site on the entire internet has some silly line there instead of the (attempted, at least) French one? IT'S RIGHT THERE IN THE TITLE OF THE SONG, for goodness' sake!

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

This is a sequel to 2001's "Reckless Abandon", and features the band looking back on their clumsy youth fondly.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.
