The Missing Frame Lyrics

One at a time, constants become surreal
One at a time, heart attacks are concealed
I can see that I lose the joys of life
One at a time
Suicides are revealed
You will see that I lost another life
But tonight

I'll let you tear it up
If you don't wake me up
But if you tear it
We can't repair it
So please don't wake me
'Til someone cares
Now no one cares

One at a time, I watched them all forget
One at a time, I'm lost in little deaths
It's the place that I
I forget my life
But tonight

I'll let you tear it up
If you don't wake me up
But if you tear it
We can't repair it
So please don't wake me
'Til someone cares
Now no one cares

Will the flood behind me
Put out the fire inside me?
Will the flood behind me
Put out the fire inside me?

I'll let you tear it up
I'll let you break it up
If you don't wake me up
But if you tear it
We can't repair it
So please don't wake me
'Til someone cares
Now no one cares

I'll let you tear it up
If you don't wake me up
'Cause it's apparent
That you don't care and
It's sunk into me
'Cause I don't care
Now no one cares

I particularly like the over-whelming sense of apathy in this song.

It's almost as if he's been doing his best to find the good in everything, to remain optimistic, and only now does he realize that there may not be a brighter side to every situation. He comes to all these conclusions about things not being as he initially perceived them. My favorite section of the song; "Will the flood behind me put out the fire inside me?" sounds as if he's contemplating whether or not he can hold out against the sudden, negative revelations.

"I'll let you tear it up, if you don't wake me up 'cause it's apparent that you don't care, and it's sunk into me, because I don't care, now no one cares."

It almost gives you the feeling that he was the last person with a positive outlook on life, society, whichever, and now that he's stood alone in his ideals for so long, he's given himself over to complete and utter apathy. In my opinion, it's a song about doing one's best not to give up in the face of negativity, and succumbing to it regardless.

i think this is a song to all those "fans" that put down AFI for being famous. He's saying i'll let you tear it up, as in put down the band but don't bother him with it because he doesnt care, because he knows the real fans will stay behind them. And hes hoping this flood of fame won't put out his fire, but if these people finally tear the band with slander they can't repair it. He did an interview for our local radio and talked about how any fans that would put them down for finally making it aren't real fans, "Cause it's apparent, that you don't care"

real lyrics:

One at a time constants become surreal. One at a time heart attacks are concealed. I can see that I lose the joys of life one at a time. Suicides are revealed. You will see that I lost another life but tonight I'll let you tear it up if you don't wake me up. But, if you tear it can't reapir it so please don't wake me until someone cares. Now, no one cares. One at a time I watched them all forget. One at a time I'm lost in little deaths. It's the place that I forget my life, like tonight. Will the flood behind me put out the fire inside me? I'll let you tear it up if you don't wake me up but if you tear it we can't repair it. So, please don't wake me until someone cares. Now, no one cares. I'll let you tear it up if you don't wake me up because it's apparent that you don't care and it's sunk into me because I don't care. Now no one cares.

DU just screams out death, in this song, I believe it's about a murder (although I can't explain the 'we can repair it') Teen angst (nobody will care if I die) etc. GOSH I LOVE this album, it may be quite different, but it's still good.

i like all about AFI but the band really started for me when Jade joined the band, unfortunately not all the songs can be so great, but this song rocks
