Hands Lyrics
I've been singing of Allison's hands in my hands
But she keeps them in her pocket
She hides them in the sand
I remember so well dark nights, spine to spine
So she has to stay behind to recover
Be free
I am thinking of Allison's trust
It's been so hard to find
I know I won't get it this time
By writing a catchy melody line
I am dreaming of Allison's light
Coming into to bloom
But my dreams will never do
The comfort that she needs I can't provide
It's a choice to just react
I'm gonna learn that lesson
For the rest of my life
Going through hell
No, I won't look back
But if you want to show me life
The offier is open
But you still won't arrive
We could be equals
Finally arrive
So in love in the middle of the ride
But she keeps them in her pocket
She hides them in the sand
I remember so well dark nights, spine to spine
So she has to stay behind to recover
Be free
It's been so hard to find
I know I won't get it this time
By writing a catchy melody line
I am dreaming of Allison's light
Coming into to bloom
But my dreams will never do
I'm gonna learn that lesson
For the rest of my life
Going through hell
No, I won't look back
The offier is open
But you still won't arrive
We could be equals
Finally arrive
So in love in the middle of the ride

My favorite KOLS song.
No one commented, but let me be the first to say that this simplicity is so unearthly beautiful. I believe this may be one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard.
It's like you wanna say thank you for writing this. I am glad I heard this song.
I love so many KOLS songs, but I have to say, I find myself going back to this one so often. It just pops into my head at times and then I absolutely have to listen to it; a wonderful song you can listen to in almost any kind of mood. There are equal parts contentment and sadness to it so you can take from it what you will at any given time. I too am so glad Kind of Like Spitting recorded this before they broke up. Thank you, KOLS!

This song is so beautiful. Even the seemingly simplistic singular guitar is wonderfully complex. Smart, reflective, and hopeful -- love it.
