Feels so good to have it
Can't stop that broken faucet
Now and again, spill to the floor
I'm up to my neck, I'm swimming in you
Step in the nude, I'm singing the blues

If I can't sing my blues
Can I drink my booze?
I have paid my dues
You can hide like fools, oh yeah

Feels so good to have it
Feels so good to have it
There's no more we can do
Hey, it is true
Now I am through

If I can't sing my blues
Can I drink my booze?
I have paid my dues
You can hide like fools, oh yeah

Feels so good to have it
Feels so good to have it

no comments yet? I realy love this version of the song. Avon seems to have a completly different meaning. this one isnt just a good song to take drugs to like all desert songs. its a good song to get drunk to, too.

"Can't stop that broken faucet Now and again, spill to the floor I'm up to my neck, I'm swimming in you" He wants to get drunk and already had enough alc so his feeling is at his top and he wants to use it before he "cant sing my blues".

"Can I drink my booze? I have paid my dues You can hide like fools, oh yeah" just pay the price for the legal drug and hide your problems like every fool can.

"Feels so good to have it" The person dont care about the consequences anymore and just wants to enjoy the nice drug effect.

Yeah sounds like a dude that just doesn't really care anymore about something (not sure what that some thing is) and is having a good time now (by drinking booze). Has sort of a darker tone than the lyrics would imply because of the chord structure. I love this song though. Only has about 10 different lines throughout but says so much. Like a lot of the QoTSA and Desert Sessions songs.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.
