Oh little town of Bethlehem
Looks like another silent night
Above your deep and dreamless sleep
A giant star lights up the sky
And while you're lying in the dark
There shines an everlasting light
For the King has left his throne
And is sleeping in a manger tonight, tonight

Oh Bethlehem, what you have missed while you were sleeping
For God became a man
And stepped into your world today
Oh Bethlehem, you will go down in history
As a city with no room for its King
While you were sleeping
While you were sleeping

Mary shivers in the cold
Trying ti keep the savior warm
Born among the animals
Wrapped in dirty rags because there was no room for him
In the world he came to save

Oh Bethlehem, what you have missed while you were sleeping
For God became a man
And stepped into your world today
Oh Bethlehem, you will go down in history
As a city with no room for its King
While you were sleeping
While you were sleeping

United States of America
Looks like another silent night
As we're sung to sleep by philosophies
That save the trees and kill the children
And while we're lying in the dark
There's a shout heard 'cross the eastern sky
For the bridegroom has returned
And has carried his bride away in the night, in the night

America, what will we miss while we are sleeping
Will Jesus come again
And leave us slumbering where we lay
America will we go down in history
As a nation with no room for its King
Will we be sleeping
Will we be sleeping
United States of America
Looks like another silent night

I love this song! I love the last verse...will we be 'a nation with no room for it's king'?

It's a desire for revival. We've been called to initiate it. If we don't, our nation will end up as a nation with no room for its king. This "One nation, under God," is not so much anymore.

If I understand this song correctly it is philosophical song that is asking why people never see grace. Why they never see the signs.

I LOVE this song!!! I think its about how we ass humans are trying to get rid of our king that saves all of us! We were one nation under God, not so much anymore because because people believe science more so than God's word! If anybody listens to August Burns Red the song "An American Dream" Suffocation. Suffocate with no room to breath. Forgive us for now is too late. This is not an American dream. This is no longer an American dream. Were trying to breath underwater. The few, the proud, no longer sing their song. One nation under God, its us against the world. Weve cut the tongue from society, forcing consumption, never hearing no. Weve brainwashed our children to believe this is destiny. Spoiled rotten, still counting their 1, 2, 3's. Forgive us for now' is too late. Forgive us for fueling the flame. This is not an American dream any longer, as we've become spoiled, rotten, counting our 1, 2, 3's. Disease infesting our young, beauty has become the beast. So TRUE!!!!! Pretty sad though!

This song is about abortion, veiled with the biblical references to 'missing' Christ or not being aware of Him returning. The real crux of the song is this:

'United States of America Looks like another silent night As we're sung to sleep by philosophies That save the trees and kill the children'

It's saying, our beliefs are all wrong. We're more likely to chain ourselves to trees than campaign for the unborn.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Cajun Girl
Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Amazing

Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
