On Thousand Apologies Lyrics

There you stood in disbelief, trying all you could to see through these lies
And every word that I could breathe, would find you more inclined to leave, but I tried
And knowing what I’ve done to you, with every thought you suffer through
My heart as black as evil can
And everything I could have been, erased by what I wanted then
I couldn’t think a lesser man

All the delicate ways
That I deepened our graves
My apology pales

Oh, the pain in your eyes
My regrets have never known such sorrow
Oh, the shame that you hide
Resolutions are the same tomorrow

So now I reap what I have sewn, and any rapture I had shown has bled dry
And I walked the streets alone, accepting pain I’d never known, as you died
Then I hurt myself to see it too, to feel the knife in put in you
My heart as broken as my ways
I never should’ve let it pass, this fall was never meant to last
The reason gone and damage stays

All the delicate ways
That I deepened our graves
My apology pales

Oh, the pain in your eyes
My regrets have never known such sorrow
Oh, the shame that you hide
Resolutions are the same tomorrow

I'm sorry, but what do you think your doing? My mind is going. I can feel it Goodbye.

Count the cost of your vile ways! Solace comes down last!

All the delicate ways
That I deepened our graves
My apology pales

Oh, the pain in your eyes
My regrets have never known such sorrow
Oh, the shame that you hide
Resolutions are the same tomorrow

from demonhunter.net “One Thousand Apologies” is a song that I wrote as an apology to someone that I hurt. In the song, I talk about how foolish I’d been and how destructive my actions. “Resolutions are the same tomorrow” means that I will try to be a better person every day.

Now where there is forgiveness of these, there is no longer an offering for sin. Hebrews 10:18

Sorry about the typo in the title, my bad. >_>

Anyways, I'm guess he's apologizing for driuving someone away. Or at least something in that vein.

...Vein looks spelled wrong to me because of stupid German. >_

Beautiful song about an extreme regret of hurting someone he cares about deeply. He says in the second verse he "feels the knife" he put in the person and his own heart became just as broken as the one he hurt. I believe this is the heart of the true repentant.

after he says the chorus after the second verse, i dont know y, but i think(THINK) the song qoutes a part from the movie 2001 space odyssy(spelling error prolly) when the computer thingy is dying and its like appologizing for trying to kill the main guy and his "mind is going".

someone plz tell me if im right

Awesome song but they forgot the section after the kubric film audio clip.

Ryan starts growling 4 times:

"Count the cost of your vile ways! Solace comes down last!"

To me this is one of the most important part of the song. since he wrote it for an unnamed person that he had hurt. at this point in the song he's so pissed at himself that's he reminds himself to look at how much pain and damage his actions have caused. Then acknowledging that it will be a very long long time before he was any peace from what he has done, that his actions and the results of his actions will continue to haunt him

Demon Hunters website gives meanings for most of their songs. This one is definatley my favorite from them. I was pretty suprised to discover they're a Christian band, and there's nothing wrong with that. The accompaning vocals are perfect, and really make the song "boom". Great all-around alternative/heavy metal!

Tofu, the lyrics in the booklet didn't have the part after the quote. So I didn't know what they were. I'll add them in...a year and a half after adding this song...

But whatever, it happens.

I love this song so much. i've done some really stupid things in my life and hurt more than one person. i've learned from my mistakes, but that doesn't change them. all in all this song is awesome and i think that anyone can relate to it.

this was the 2nd or 3rd song by DH that i had heard. (the first being "Tide Began to Rise") They started me on Christian Rock.

This song reminds me of myself a little in the fact that i have a tendency to hurt someone and not know that i am doing it. and its helped me come to the realization that i cant live in the past. really the only thing i can do is apologize for the hurt, even if its worth nothing, and try to do better next time.

Also, the chorus of this makes me thing of how we, as human beings, sinners, hurt Jesus everytime we sin. And to amplify the pain, he knows ahead of time that we are going to do it. When i first heard the chorus, a scene from Passion of the Christ popped into my head. The scene where Jesus looks down on the people while He is on the cross and asks the Lord to forgive them. I imagine myself looking up at him and begging for forgivness. so yea. i rambled. sry about that, guess i had alot to share about this song.
