When Fire Falls Lyrics
You keep pushing me down, though you’ve breathed what I’ve done
Understand this won’t last, this time you’ve gone too far
You spit words like a whip, full of glass and steel shards
Understand this won’t last, a greater fire will fall
I have lost all my patience for you games
Can’t you see my blood is wearing thin?
It won’t be long, ‘til I finally break down
Can’t you see my blood is wearing thin?
It won’t be long, ‘til you finally break me down!
With boots to my ribcage, with metaphorical shots
You drench me in kerosene, throw in a match to light up your night
There are demons at play, there are selfish sad ways
You are part of the dark, he will take care of you
Understand this won’t last, this time you’ve gone too far
You spit words like a whip, full of glass and steel shards
Understand this won’t last, a greater fire will fall
I have lost all my patience for you games
Can’t you see my blood is wearing thin?
It won’t be long, ‘til I finally break down
Can’t you see my blood is wearing thin?
It won’t be long, ‘til you finally break me down!
With boots to my ribcage, with metaphorical shots
You drench me in kerosene, throw in a match to light up your night
There are demons at play, there are selfish sad ways
You are part of the dark, he will take care of you

wearing thin should be running thin i think. i can't really come up with anything for this song. love it though.
I think this one is about a relationship that the writter is no longer happy with. In fact, I think he's scared. All the metaphors of some sort of bodily harm and he doesn't like what the other person in the relationship will eventually turn him into. "til I finally break down" I think the best part of the song is the last two lines. They paint this picture of the girl who is causing him the problems and he's letting her go. He talks about "the dark." Darkness has an archetypal connection with evil. And given the bands Christian background, it's safe to assume that this connection can be made. It's my opinion though that the "he" in the last line is refering to the devil. It is being written in a cynical way as to portray the writter's giving up, she wants to live that way anyway. Finally, a quick tweak in the lyrics should be addressed, he does not say "you games", rather he says "your games." At first listen it is easy to think this way but when you listen closer you can clear hear him singing your.
i wrote some lyrics that are eerily similar to this.
simply put - it's a reflection of the battle going on inside the writer of the song. directly speaking to "the fallen one." at the time i was still struggling with problems - and from what I see they're @ that stage as well. will be praying for these guys. we writers write, yes we write - about ourselves.
You're a lost cause now So you drag me down But your grip is loosening
Stand up for yourself I'm tired of you You're forbidden to touch The most holy of fruits
Your story is written from the very start When you chose to grieve - your first Lover's heart.
You're a lost cause now So you grab at me But we're separated by a Love so deep
