Fell in Love with the Game Lyrics

Put the knife in the table
Deck of cards fly across the room
This game has ended someone needs to die
Cause I put my life on the table but forgot the risk I assume
Now it’s going down

Fell in love with the game
But I forgot Your name
Go ahead please fight me
Cause I’m not scared
Though You stayed the same
I forgot from where I came

I put my life on this table
This is me and I’m lost for words
Now is it me who needs to die
Say something then
Cause I’ll be dead before dawn
If Your voice comes unheard
Now I can’t find ground

Fell in love with the game
But I forgot Your name
Go ahead please fight me
Cause I’m not scared
Though You stayed the same
I forgot from where I came

And we both stand tall on the table
You take me by the hand and I grab You by the throat
And we come crashing down through the window
On the dirt ground below
And we wrestle in the mud and the blood and the beer
Break my jaw I don’t care
Just stay with me, stay

Lock my arms I don’t want to move
Hold me still teach me how to weep
If it’s ok with You I think I’ll stay here
For a little while

Fell in love with the game
But I forgot Your name
Go ahead please find me
Cause I’m not scared
Though You stayed the same
I forgot from where I came

ok not every song has to be related back to religion its just about an addiction or 'a game' like drugs etc and forgetting your priorities whether they be christ or your partner etc etc

i love this song i have no idea what it means though

I'm not sure these lyrics are 100% correct but I think the overall meaning of the song is that a debt of sin had to be repaid by blood, and Christ paid that debt, but Christian feels as if he's forgotten about that and feels as if he will end up repaying that debt himself rather than accepting Christ's gift of forgiveness...

wow i love this song and video, blindside never ceases to amaze me. what i got out of after listen a lot and watching the video, the video is about a guy who is walking around town with a jarful of money. when he isn't watching, it gets taken by people, slowly til there's none left. in the end, an ace card pops out of his jacket, implying that he cheats to get that money. therefore, he "fell in love with the game" of that card game and ended up cheating, and losing all he had. like our life with Christ, we fall in love with the game of sin and forget His name. that's all i can remember of what my thoughts on the song were, but yeah, just my thoughts.

I'd have to say that the Ace card in his pocket is saying that the character is the "Ace in the Hole"... representing Jesus, the one who gave it all and died for us, and it was all to defeat sin.

I think this song is saying that Jesus gave the gift of salvation for free to everyone. Or something like that..

It's about gambling addiction and how it can screw up your priorities (Fell in love with the game...but I forgot your name)

well the thing in the video that makes me think is that after everyone had been taking money from him everywhere he stopped he really was just on his way to give it to the band....thats a part that made it deeper and more meaningful to me

I say right on for waitforme19!!! I have been trying to figure this one out for along time but I was stumped!?! I never thought of it that way. But one thing, in the end right before he dies he gives some money to the band. I don't really know what that means. Maybe in his last moments he realizes there is more to life than hording his money for himself. Oh, can anyone explain why he is carring around the pic of that women? Do you think she died or something???

I agree with MiniVanMan...

I always wanna have my own card to deal -- insurance, in case the cross was not enough.

My clever moves are pointless. My biggest accomplishment is to hand my accomplishments over to God and admit they are his. I cannot win my redemption with my own goodness.

I like the addition of "beer" -- What are we ON that gives us the idea of saving ourselves?

I also like the idea of being willing to be fought and injured if that's what it takes for us to get it.
