The Great Depression Lyrics
We are the sons and daughters of a revolution
Revolutionaries walking us out of oppression and into a no-law promised land
Where there is no right or wrong
And this leaves us with a great sense of sadness growing inside our soul
No one can explain where it's coming from
Or where it's taking us
We just know that something is lost
That somehow we are lost
And this, my friend, is the great depression
Revolutionaries walking us out of oppression and into a no-law promised land
Where there is no right or wrong
No one can explain where it's coming from
Or where it's taking us

I can't believe no one has commented on this song. It is amazing. I think it's talking about how God is coming back for us soon..I'm not exactly sure but I think that's what it's leading at.
We are the sons and daughters of a revolution Revolutionaries walking us out of oppression and into a no-law promised land Where there is no right or wrong [Pretty clear. It means We, the sons and daughters, need to get people out of opression or sin, and into the clear path of light that leads to Heaven. Or it could be talking about the bands trip to Africa, where they got people to accept Jesus.] And this leaves us with a great sense of sadness growing inside our soul No one can explain where it's coming from Or where it's taking us We just know that something is lost
That somehow we are lost
And this, my friend, is the great depression [When you think of how many people are lost, it leaves you feeling sad.]
This song is the beginning to a sort of story as i see it built into the CD. This song is talking about how people move out from wherever they are at and into a no-law land (perhaps referring to the lost's own ideals about life and its rules) and they say that it ends in a person realizing that they are lost and it is the Great Depression. I see this as a person's final moments before being saved as they move through life seeing things as fine and good then are faced with a realization and a great depression based upon that realization. The Great Depression that led to salvation. The CD follows a sort of Great Depression with songs such as My Alibi referring to wasted life and how God can cover a life and be the alibi on the final day, Fell in love with the game being about gambling and how that can tear a person apart and all leading up to the song When I remember which is a sort of reflection on a person's life and how their is sunshine in the rain or hope beyond tomorrow...Personally i love this CD and I'd be curious to see what ppl think about my ideas.
