The Red Strokes Lyrics
Moonlight on canvas, midnight and wine
Two shadows starting to softly combine
The picture they're painting
Is one of the heart
And to those who have seen it
It's a true work of art
Oh, the red strokes
Passions uncaged
Thundering moments of tenderness rage
Oh, the red strokes
Tempered and strong (Fearlessly drawn)
Burning the night like the dawn
Steam on the window, salt in a kiss
Two hearts have never pounded like this
Inspired by a vision
That they can't command
Erasing the borders
With each brush of a hand
Oh, the red strokes
Passions uncaged
Thundering moments of tenderness rage
Oh, the red strokes
Tempered and strong (Fearlessly drawn)
Burning the night like the dawn
Oh, the blues will be blue and the jealousies green
But when love picks its shade it demands to be seen
Oh, the red strokes
Passions uncaged
Thundering moments of tenderness rage
Oh, the red strokes
Tempered and strong (Fearlessly drawn)
Burning the night like the dawn
Oh, the red strokes
Passions uncaged
Thundering moments of tenderness rage
Oh, the red strokes
Tempered and strong (Fearlessly drawn)
Burning the night like the dawn
Steam on the window, salt in a kiss
Two hearts have never pounded like this
Two shadows starting to softly combine
The picture they're painting

its basically two people who just mess around and they dont tell there true feelings.
This song is defnitely about passion. I see it as loving passion, as all of the images are so romantic. "Moonlight on canvas, midnight and wine" "The picture they're painting, Is one of the heart. And to those who have seen it, It's a true work of art." "But when love picks its shade it demands to be seen." In other words, I don't see what Carmen sees AT ALL, I see the complete opposite. Not meaningless sex, but rather, the kind of sex that happens when two people are completely in love and passionate about eachother. But I bet a shrink could have a field day with what is read into this song.
All I have to say is the video for this song is freakin amazing. Any guy willing to be drenched in red paint is alright in my book
Ok so I know it's been since '08 but I SO disagree with Carmen. I think this song is about passion that two people have between one another. I don't think it's about a one night stand or meaningless sex. Definately not. It's about the love and passion that these two people have and are not afraid to show it! It picks a shade that demands to be seen!!! It's true and raw and has been uncaged. No holding back. I love the picture that this song paints in your mind. The video isn't bad either...
