My Damnation Lyrics
Time to take control (I control this)
It's harder then you know (got to change this)
Feel the muscle twitch (it's electric)
When you let it go
Feeling primitive (in my dark room)
Pounding in my head (creeping silence)
They will never know (all the secrets)
Better left unsaid
Always the same and
I didn't know you were
Taking what's mine I
Can see it show through (through)
Waiting to break me
'Cause everyday it's
My damnation
Take another step (look around me)
All that I have left (taken from me)
Things I could have been (are forgotten)
Haunting me again
Set in my own ways (never changing)
Make it through the day (rearranging)
Nothing more to lose (I can tell there's)
Nothing more to say
Always the same and
I didn't know you were
Taking what's mine I
Can see it show through (through)
Waiting to break me
'Cause everyday it's
My damnation
Always to blame you
You crucified me
Leave it behind I
Can't take this hating
I'll make it go away
And everyday it's
My damnation
Go ahead
You throw the dirt
You tried
To make it hurt me
Everything, everything
Everything breaking me
Always the same (3x)
Always to blame
Always the same
Over and over it's my damnation
Always the same and
I didn't know you were
Taking what's mine I
Can see it show through
Waiting to break me
'Cause everyday it's
My damnation
Always to blame you
You crucified me
Leave it behind I
Can't take this hating
I'll make it go away
And everyday it's
My damnation
Always the same and
I didn't know you were
Taking what's mine I
Can see it show through (through)
Waiting to break me

Right or wrong, this is what I get from this song. Sounds like divorce to me, and a nasty one at that. The shit slinging and the who did what to who and it enevidably "always being your fault." But in this song it sounds one sided, like who he is singing about is running a smear campaign while he just sits there and says nothing. My two cents
It could be about a girl, but it could also just be about a good but two-faced friend stabbing him in the back for a longer period of time. Wayne, first perhaps in denial "I didn't know you were taking what's mine" but as he finds out he still feels for this person and therefor letting this person get away with it for so long, but still "everyday is my damnation". "Time to take control" probably means just that, Wayne is trying to regain the control of himself and his own life again, even though it's hard "harder than you know", because this was someone really close to his heart. "Leave it behind, I can't take this hating, I'll make it go away" sounds to me like he's trying to forgive this person, and make this person stop whatever it is that s/he's doing. But then "I can tell there's nothing more to say" is Wayne sadly giving up on this person.
