Great Pains
I've gone to
Gang slang
I've gone to
Lame brain
Looking for gold I
I have become someone else
Outside
Stepping to inside
Stepping to inside
Stepping I wade through shit

He's a loser
He's a loser, she said
he's a loser
he's a loser, she said

I am mine
I am mine
I am mine
I am mine
I can't become someone else

He's a loser
He's a loser, she said
He's a loser
He's a loser, she said

Basically I think the song was about a girl who maybe wayne static wanted to impress but instead her reaction to him was that he was a loser. He may have began to believe her but then realized he wasn't going to try and change for her any more(I am what I am, kinda thing). Just a theory anyway. P.s. it's a kick ass song, and I also find it quite amusing.

I'm not sure why, but I love this song. I still struggle to figure out just what the hell Wayne's sayin in this one...but I love it nonetheless...I think it's the whole "he's a loser" bit

ah ha i love staticx! i feel the same way about wayne trying to change himself for a girl..."great pains, ive gone to gang slang i've gone to lame brain, looking for gold i have become someone else." i think tells of how he trys changing himself. "outside stepping to inside, stepping to myself stepping i wade through shit" explains how now i think hes trying to change back, and it's difficult... he's a loser he's a loser she said obviously would be this girl talking about wayne. "i am mine--- i cant become someone else": he sees that he wont change for anyone again... and thats that

smiley.... dont tell me what to do, i think thats the whole point of the song: live for yourself, and not anyone else.

you can compare it to those "dont feed the bears" signs..... the bears forget how to get thier own food and die starved and confused

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Midnight
Ed Sheeran
“Midnight” is a song about finding a love that is so true that it provides a calming feeling through every storm. Ed Sheeran reflects on his good fortunes in landing someone with such peace and support and speaks of not fearing the dark days because he knows they’ll all end in the safety nets of her arms. “Well, good morning there / What a way to start the day / With everything laid bare,” Ed Sheeran sings in the first verse, enthusiastic to be waking up beside his woman. He apologizes for missing her calls in the second verse and promises to return them because for him, speaking to her is the most important thing. “Well, I get lost inside my head / In this chaos, you’re my calm / And I will find my feet again / ‘Cause еven the worst days of my life will always еnd / At midnight in your arms,” sings Ed Sheeran in the chorus, revelling in his good luck.
