Trying to be misunderstood
But it doesn't do me any good
Love the way that they smile at me
Held that face for eternity
Now let them all fly off
When it comes down
It all comes down
And you will not be found
When its over
It's all over
Even if I make a sound

I'll be misunderstood
By the beautiful and good in this city
None of this was planned
Take me by the hand just don't try and understand

Trying to be misunderstood
Just a product of my childhood
Still I find myself outside
You can't say I haven't tried
Perhaps I tried to hard
No excuses
Won't apologise
Or justify your lies
Come find me
Tell them to me
Look me in the eyes

I'll be misunderstood
By the beautiful and good in this city
None of this was planned
Take me by the hand
Just don't try and understand

Can't forgive sorry to say
You don't know your guilty anyway
Isn't it funny how we don't speak, the language of love

I'm not exactly sure if these lryics are correct O.o ... But anyways it's such a great song. I can't really express any particular meaning I understand in it, but I feel it very close to me... I'd love to hear you all say anything about it.

first time i heard this song i thought it was by U2.

in my opinion this is his best song. atleast its my favourite. the other ones i can't stand especially the radio friendly popular stuff.

    the knockout lines

"cause when it comes down it all comes down... and you will not be found."

"i can't forgive sorry to say... you don't know youre guilty anyway."

Thanks Leishy for the right lyrics .... I've asked for the meaning of the song on some site , and A friend called whitney has answered me this : "" i believe he is talking to a specific person and trying to explain himself where no one else understands him, he wants this person to. by "trying to be misunderstood" i think he means he already knows he's going to be so why not succumb to it. face for eternity is they always think the same thing and can't fathom anything else. the next little paragraph i think hes kind of expecting bad to come from even trying. next part, i think he's saying like cops or ppl who are supposed to be considered "good" don't believe that he didn't mean any harm and he's asking the person who he feels mostly or at least somewhat understood by or trusts to believe him instead of them. "i won't apologize or justify your lies" is he knows he's telling the truth, whether or not anyone believes him at all. i think the you don't know you are guilty anyway is they don't really know they are wrong or are misunderstanding him or believe him but they don't necessarily mean harm by it, but it still hurts. idk, just my personal opinion on this matter.."""

    thx

I love this song! I have been a massive Robbie fan since the 90's Take That days and this would be in my Top 3 Robbie songs, and I loved that they used it in Bridget Jones 2 as well.

    I love the lyrics especially:

"No excuses, I won't apologize, or justify your lies, come to me, tell it to me, look me in the eyes" I think that would be someone who doesn't understand who he fully is as an entertainer and a real person away from the limelight as well.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
