This song isn't necessarily about love. It could be about the way it feels to retreat from others when you need time to yourself for self-inflection. Sometimes dealing with reality gets to be too much and you just need to get away from it all. You're jaded and ashamed of not wanting to be around others.

As for its intended meaning... I think it is about keeping something socially unacceptable a secret, like one's sexuality or something like that. mostly because of the first line in the 2nd verse..'Pacific to Eastern we're bordered and hated'
but as for its personal meaning to me... I agree with skyblue that 'hiding' could mean retreating from the drama of every day life. Though still that line (Pacific to Eastern we're bordered and hated) is problematic...

The previous attempts for the meaning are lame. song is about staying hard to find kuz its to hard to take the shame of ones actions, no need to get too deep, personally i think kpylla may b a touch on the homo side, please do not take offence, i am not judging u...but the actions their relating to are obviously unknown and will stay as such. as for the pacific...... blah blah is simply stating that these actions make them feel like the whole world is agaist it... u dig, peace

I just downloaded this song, and WOW! I love the simplicity of both the lyrics and the melody. I think Sky Blue is totally right about this being about needing to retreat from others for a while. (Something I can totally relate to) :-) Just an absolutely amazing song.
this song is my favorite song ever, and thats a very difficult thing to find...every time i listen to it, i'm reminded why i love it so much.
