This is the year where hope fails you
The test subjects run the experiment
And the bastard you know is the hero you hate
But cohesion is possible if we try
There's no reason, there's no lesson, no time like the present
Tell me right now, what have you got to lose?
What have you got to lose except your soul?
Who's with us?

I fight for the unconventional
My right, and it's unconditional
I can only be as real as I can
The disadvantage is, I never knew the plan
This isn't just a way to be a martyr
I can't walk alone any longer
I fight for the ones who can't fight
And if I lose, at least I tried

(We) we are the new diabolic
(We) we are the bitter bucolic
If I have to give my life, you can have it
(We) we are the pulse of the maggots

I won't be the inconsequential
I won't be the wasted potential
I can make it as severe as I can
Until you realize, you'll never take a stand
It isn't just a one-sided version
We've dealt with a manic subversion
I won't let the truth be perverted
And I wont leave another victim deserted

(We) we are the new diabolic
(We) we are the bitter bucolic
If I have to give my life, you can have it
(We) we are the pulse of the maggots

Do you understand? (Yes)
Do you understand? (Yes)
Do you understand? (Yes)
Do you understand? (Yes)

Say it again, say it again (we wont die)
Say it again, say it again (we wont die)
Say it again, say it again (we wont die)
Say it again, say it again (we wont die)
Say it again, say it again (we wont die)
Say it again, say it again (we wont die)
Say it again, say it again (we wont die)
Say it again, say it again (we wont die)

We fight 'til no one can fight us
We live and no one can stop us
We pull when we're pushed too far
And the advantage is, the bottom line is
We never had to fight in the first place
We only had spit back in their face
We won't walk alone any longer
What doesn't kill us only makes us stronger

(We) we are the new diabolic
(We) we are the bitter bucolic
If I have to give my life, you can have it
(We) we are the pulse of the maggots

Do you understand? (Yes)
Do you understand? (Yes)
Do you understand? (Yes)
Do you understand? (Yes)

Say it again, say it again (we wont die)
Say it again, say it again (we wont die)
Say it again, say it again (we wont die)
Say it again, say it again (we wont die)

Whether in Slipknot or Stone Sour, Corey seems to sing a lot about the sad state of this world, the atrocities, and the corrupt governments that cause these events. I think this song is about that as well. However, it's a call to people to realize that we actually have the power, but ONLY if we come together and realize that untapped power we have within us...and that it's time we stand up against these regimes and take the power back.

Well, if your all so sure that Slipknot are a bunch of screaming fags, then why aren't your perfect asses up there singing and bringing out perfect music? I don't see you up there with a number one album.

this song is about how slipknot is our "pulse" us maggots will live on as long as slipknot lives on we shall also, and about as long as we maggots stick together "we wont die".

We fight so no one can fight us We live and no one can stop us We pull when we push too far And the advantages, the bottom line is We never had to fight in the first place We yell it, and just spit back in their face We won't walk alone any longer What doesn't kill us only makes us stronger

these lyrics are about how we will join together, and we dont need to fight fuck them we will just spit back in their face and how if were pushed to far we will push back, maggots rejoice. stay (sic) maggots!

Slipknot is back! I love this song, its about standing up for each other, and not taking any shit off anyone, which is basically what Slipknot have been about since day 1.

To me, this song is about having a cause that is worth fighting for, and worth dying for, because without it, your life is meaningless anyways.

i think this song personally means that they are the ones who defend who cant defend for them selves, but also they defend something that destroys and decomposes at the same time. so they are saying that what we defend does not always do all good for everyone, they can also destroy everything else we love. and if we dont stop defending everything we WANT. and not what we NEED, we do eventually destroy ourselves and if it gets too far out of hand and we get dsperate about what we want, it will never stop and it will just get worse.

also, this song is friggin awesome. i have never heard such awesome guitar solos in my LIFE.this is truly their BEST album yet! maybe not containing one of their best songs. (wait and bleed, Slipknot S/T) but still in total, one off their best albums.

    maggots shall LIVE~~~!!!!!!

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.
