At Least I'm Not Like All Those Other Old Guys Lyrics
I'm twenty-nine years old,
still wearing the wallet chain, like I was twenty-eight.
I'm wearing my Vans right now,
so high school kids will think that I can skate.
I've got a degree in science,
yet shaking my fists in defiance.
Anyway,
I'm not cliche
I hardly own any ties.
I may be old, but at least I'm not like all those other old guys.
I'm watching MTV,
for fashion tips, so I can say, that I saw it first.
Backwards hat, tattoos, and goatee
say I'm cool, just like Fred Durst
I pay almost all my bills,
I sleep on a futon still.
(Anyway,
I'm not cliche,
I might not even die.
I may be old, but at least I'm not like all those other old guys.)

this song is absolutely perfectly....definitely written about my best friend. :) I swear.
Me too! Well, he's actually my youth pastor too, but he's really cool.
suddenly I feel old, lol.
I really love these lines:
"I've got a degree in science, yet shaking my fists in defiance."
I used to just really like them because I think it's quite a funny rhyme. At face value its just talking about still feeling youtful, fitting with the rest of the song. But there's also a wonderful second meaning it that Reese Roper (the band's lead vocalist) really DOES have a degree in science and yet he is still performing in a Christian band... he is a Christian despite his scientific education. I think that's a really great thought, that religion and science can in someway exist together.
Nobody's concerned that the lyrics are missing the sandwiches lines?
