Desert Garden

Basically this song is expressing someone's feelings about living life to it's full potential. They see themself as a small being in this large world we live in..."The sky is big and my life is small ." In order to live life to full potential he/she feels they need to start a life with the one they love..."I want to leave with you So we can build a perfect garden." To sum it up, it means that there's so much bullshit in today's "rat race" and that we should always live life to its full potential (in this case running away with someone you love and building a desert garden lol)

This is my favourite VAST song. Mainly because it sums up how I feel sometimes... just that life is too short to just waste, and that love and happiness should be grasped as soon as possible.

This is interesting... it strikes me as a protest to just living a life of mediocrity, and going along with the middle-class rat-race. Hmm.. it's sad. The song is quickly growing on me, and could become a favorite. (it takes me a while to absorb new songs)

i relate it to the guy i like because we r such out casts in our town and i wish we could run away to our own little world and leave this one behind.

"ilovevast", i really like your interpretation. my first interpretation was that the person wants to leave (die, escape the world). they are tired of the regimented, repetitive nature of their life, and they view "the sky" (heaven) as so much more appealing. he wants this girl to feel the same way about life as he does. when he is with her, or when he "leaves"with her, he wants their lives to be behind them forever, & build a better life (a desert garden) with them. the desert garden being a place (in heaven) that is completely isolated, and beautiful (if somewhat, literally, impossible).
