Jesus Christ
Are you the son of God
I want to know
You ask that I believe

Not one days goes by
That I don't compromise
Your love for the cold love of the world
It's killing me through
My own evil pride

Not one day goes by
That I don't know
That I'm dying

Jesus Christ
Are you the savior of the world
I want to see
But I
Still believe

Not one day goes by
That I don't realize
I know that no one will ever know
Where the flowers go
When they are gone

Not one day goes by
That I don't know
That I'm dying

I want to say you all are too

This song's about the despair of death, and the wonder of whats beyond deaths door. If you think about it, it really is pretty sad actually. The sole fact that one day we're all gonna die. But this songs more along the lines of 'is there really a God waiting for me when I'm gone?'

I think its more about his struggle with his faith, and questioning if God really exists or not

Maybe someone can clear this one up for me. In the official lyrics for this song it says "But I still believe." But I swear to my own naked ear I can her him saying the totally opposite in the song. Maybe its just me, or I have bad hearing.

I think that it goes a bit deeper, I think that it's about Jon Crosby's questioning of his own faith in what he was taught to beleive his whole life. And that the confusion inside him is killing him.

I think he's apologizing to God. Asking him if he still hears him, if he's still there, if he even listens to him as he starts. He's apologizing for denying the God he still loves every day for material and sinful things in the world. He's telling God that he still believes and he really is trying.

I think this song points out te fact that we are all born dying, and whether or not there is a god waitng for us, the person who tis is for is compromising their faith because of some loss that has occurred. And pride is the barrier between the believer and the belief. It's almost saying that god exists, but he's a bastard. He kills more innocent people than anyone else, anddoesn't offer reasons as to why. Just a theory. ~T~

sorry to post twice, but the compromising of god's love for the cruel love of the world means he tends to be tempted by pleasures of the flesh - regardless of the potential loss of infinite love from god. Its late, i'm not sure what i'm talking about ~T~

I'd say this song is about the undeniability of death forecoming. He's bitter about it and he's bitter about the fact that he's supposed to believe in something that bares no proof. He begs for some evidence, something to give him a reason to believe. This song is so powerful. To me it speaks about the fragility of life and that is important to me, there truly is no day that I don't think about the possibility of dying. Life is cruel sometimes, but death is much more cruel.
