Who's the man who stole fire for the people?
Who causes trembling in the bones of evil?
Who carved a mountain into a cathedral?

I am immortal.

Half-blind and spitting straight into the wind,
Down, down, trying to drag me down.

It's all right, I go to dreaming.
It's all right, I go to dreaming.

In dog yearsâ?¦

The blood of lions,
I, liquefying.
I ain't dying.
I am immortal.

Who rides the solar cycle with no hands ma?
Who found the ark inside texarkana?
Who asks the questions that have no answers?

Half-blind and spitting straight into the wind.
Down, down, trying to drag me down.

In dog yearsâ?¦

I am immortal.
I am immortal.
I am immortal.

In dog yearsâ?¦

The blood of lions,
I, liquefying.
I ain't dying.
I am immortal.

WHY HAS NO ONE COMMENTED ON HERE? Man, this song rules. Whenever I play Hitman Contracts and I'm on the biker mission and I go into the strip club, this song pumps my nads so hard.

This song is classic Clutch style. Niel's songwriting and tone combine to make an epic sounding story, yet mocking itself: 'I am immortal... in dog years'. His voice is so awesome he can make anything sound so... legendary.

I believe this is a satirical song as well, mocking rap songs that are all claims of how tough, ruthless, womanizing etc they are.

On a sidenote they opened with this song 7/22 in San Francisco it was so awesome.. After the show I was waiting for the BART train and some drunk guy was yelling at a mouse on the traintracks 'Hey you fucking mouse! Clutch rules! I am immortal!' Struck me as funny.

    Memory

I'm always reminded of the DC character "Lobo" whenever I hear this song, and I'm not entirely sure why.

It's a song or even a prayer of empowerment against the most adverse conditions, to "dig deep" and transcend your own frailties and move forward regardless of who or what gets in your way. That we are all unstoppable when we set our minds to it. That you won't let nothing or no one get you down.

The song "Immortal" was originally released with different lyrics and arrangement as the song "Baby I'm Down" by Leslie West on his debut album Mountain. Clutch rearranged it and changed the lyrics somewhat, and it features a guitar solo by the original author, Leslie West, on it, who then had his band 'Mountain' cover this Clutch version on their Mystic Fire album the following year.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
