@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday".
I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.
I alone cry beside her
Pushed away, once too often
Face the lie
Visions, changes
Shade as ice
The words are poison
Changes made now why can't I
Fill the face in the mirror?
What I want
Still you won't give...
But I cannot hate you...
Burn alone stains of sorry
Tired eyes, my skin seems heavy
Mind astray, the sane still laughing
Images all worth losing
Changes made now why can't I
Fill the face in the mirror?
What I want
Still you won't give...
But I cannot hate you...
You cannot believe what you're in for
The screens burn your eyes
The feeling of leaving yourself dies
Scratch out the real you
Time ticking away, but I'm killing
Choking on sorrow
Now you're dead
When you didn't listen
Gave into the fear
I'm not the one that takes from you
I see you inside
There are no fears
But still I've tried
I'm shocked it kills
To lift your eye
I am
So few like them, in the way...
Pushed away, once too often
Face the lie
Visions, changes
Shade as ice
The words are poison
Changes made now why can't I
Fill the face in the mirror?
What I want
Still you won't give...
But I cannot hate you...
Burn alone stains of sorry
Tired eyes, my skin seems heavy
Mind astray, the sane still laughing
Images all worth losing
Changes made now why can't I
Fill the face in the mirror?
What I want
Still you won't give...
But I cannot hate you...
You cannot believe what you're in for
The screens burn your eyes
The feeling of leaving yourself dies
Scratch out the real you
Time ticking away, but I'm killing
Choking on sorrow
Now you're dead
When you didn't listen
Gave into the fear
I'm not the one that takes from you
I see you inside
There are no fears
But still I've tried
I'm shocked it kills
To lift your eye
I am
So few like them, in the way...

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example:
"'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Magical
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

Blue
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.

While the obvious connections with suicide or alcoholism could be drawn easily, more subtly this song could be about someone who views the world through a negative lens constantly and how as much as the writer tries to show the beauty in the world, this person refuses to see it. It's one or another between the rope and the bottle. There is no good option for this person. They can't see it. Skiba sings it in a kind of exasperated way like He's tired of hearing this negative view constantly and just allowing that person to continue feeling the way they feel knowing he can't do anything about it. You can hear it when he says maybe you're a vampire.
just...beautiful. matt's got such a fucking awesome voice. these guys manage to make a beautiful song that still kicks ass...beautifully brutal. WORLD DOMINATION!!!
THIS SONG JUST KIX SO MUCH ASS. IT TO ME IS ABOUT CHANGING AND WHAT GOES ON IN THE PROCESS. NOTHINGFACE ARE GODS IN MY SMALL MEANINGLESS WORLD
WORLD DOMINATION!!! My favorite Nothingface song on my favorite Nothingface CD, Matt has such an awesome voice, the lyrics are awesome, they described how I felt once upon a time. This is one beautiful song, that still kicks my ass just like every other Nothingface song. Nothingface ARE Gods!!!
Just proof that Matt Holt is one of most talented vocalist in the whole damn world. He can go from high to low just like that and he makes it sound damn good. Song is one of the best ever next to make your own bones and same solution.
so few lie now in the way so few lie now in the way thats what I always heard before i found the lyrics.. still the only thing I can hear when I listen to it heh
at the end of the part right before "so few like them..." where hes quietly singing...it sounds like hes saying something different then what the lyrics say...anybody got any idea on what they really are?
"but still you've lived i just can't see when i lie i am" thats that part. this song is about a girl who keeps pushing matt away and hurting him but its always him there for her. sad song.
