Before this starts
I just want to tell you
That you could fuck us
Love me
So I can relax
So I can aim straight
So I can do right for us

I know you inside
I know you're cold
I know you're saddened by the loss of those
And now you're cold
I'm sorry that you're next, so go

Who's next? All right!
With the fucking bruised knees in the black shirt
Screaming, all right
In the bloody back seat of my black hearse
Hanging, all right
On a fucking meat hook in my basement
Who's next? All right!
It's everybody's time to die!

My mind does this
I can't stop the rage inside
My hands again
Hate me
So I can relax
So I can kill you
So I can do right for us

No more pretending
We're all alone
I want to hear just why you left us all
We really loved you
But now you're cold
I'm sorry that you're next to go

Who's next? All right!
With the fucking bruised knees in the black shirt
Screaming, all right
In the back seat of my bloody hearse
Hanging, all right
On a fucking meat hook in my basement
Who's next? All right!
It's time for everybody to die!

Yeah, fuck, you'll die you fucking bitch

I can't deny
Forensic lies
Or hateful sighs
I'll wait for you, I wait for you

I'm glad you know

I cannot take this anymore
You've pushed me to the limits
You sold us this before, but I still know
We'll find the right one to fight with us now
And I know that you're set on us, you're set on us, you're set on us

This song kicks you in the ass from beginning to end. This is as close as your gonna get to getting inside a sick fucking serial killers head. Just another song to prove that nothingface is one of the best bands out there.

I'm in agreeance here - a guy with an overwhelming desire to kill his ex girlfriend cos she was such a fucken bitch to him, and hey he's still angry so why not kill the whole fucken human race while he's at it?

I have always interpreted these lyrics as though they are spoken through the mind of a serial killer.

He has his next victim and he's starting his mind game on her. He's paranoid and not sure yet how strong she is... It sounds like she has been there long enough to see what he's done to the ones before her and he's trying to dehumanize her so he can kill her...

"Before this starts I just want to tell you That you could fuck us Love me So I can relax So I can aim straight So I can do right for us

I know you inside I know you're cold I know you're saddened by the loss of those And now you're cold I'm sorry that you're next, so go"

It also sounds like maybe she tried to get away and so he's pissed about that, and punishing her...

"No more pretending We're all alone I want to hear just why you left us all We really loved you But now you're cold I'm sorry that you're next to go"

..and it sounds like she gave him a good fight before he finally got her trapped again... and others are there too, either alive or their dead bodies are still there...

Yeah, fuck, you'll die you fucking bitch

I cannot take this anymore You've pushed me to the limits You sold us this before, but I still know We'll find the right one to fight with us now And I know that you're set on us, you're set on us, you're set on us"

I could be wrong but that's just the way I always imagined it...

New to this site. Pretty interesting to hear others thoughts...

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
