The Friday cars pour people,
Like the bearded bar-man pours drinks,
And everybody's lookin' good,
Though not as good as they all think.

But attitude is everything,
Shouts a lady as they open up the doors,
And everybody starts pushing
To get a spot on the checkered dance floor.

CHORUS:
It's all aboard the Disco Bus,
The party place on wheels.
You never know just where you're goin',
But you like just how it feels.

Yeah, it's all aboard the Disco Bus,
It's the 21st century.
The drinks here may be pricey,
But the good times they're all free.
(end of chorus)

DJ Toby's in the corner,
Layin' down a funky beat,
While the sequin-studded cowboy
Looks for a cowgirl he'd like to meet.

Outside the cityscape changes,
And the landmarks pass me by,
But inside it's a party,
And everybody's getting high.

CHORUS

Worries can't catch this train,
And neither can the cops,
Cause once the party's in motion,
The bus ain't stoppin' till it stops.

So all you lonely souls out there,
Listen close and heed the call,
Join the fun and hitch a ride,
On the world's first moving dance hall.

CHORUS

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.
