i always got an impression that it was about an older woman trying to impress a younger man with outrageous lies about all the things she's done in her life to make herself seem interesting and appealing to him, as well as to convince herself she hasn't wasted her life. perhaps its all the teacher/student and 'love you like a mother' lines...
this song is so amazing... it reminds me of this guy i know; he tells these outrageous and obviously untrue stories, but he tells them so well that you laugh and become enthralled and you begin to believe him.
my friend Krietman is a lot like this.. or at least it used to be. she'd make up ridiculous stories that we all knew were lies, but she told them so well that it was funny and captivating, in a way. However, it got old.. really quick.. when we all saw how much of a bitch she was
