Tell those stories to me
I'm dying to hear the things you've done and seen
Farfetched as they may be
You strike a smile in me
Your stories ring of perjury
Constructed of self empowering theme

Sucking on my brain
You're the teacher, I'm the student
Turning things around
You story's not congruent
Tabloid decoys
Pitiful excuses
Turning things around
You're turning things around!

A manic stunning scene
I'm taking notes
You're taking me away
Into your false reality
I know your comfort lies in lying
To try to make your life make sense
But you're not making sense

I'd say it aloud
But I'm not allowed
I see your head
Spin round and round
Broken record talk tonight
Skip that needle back and forth on your mind
Wearing out unconvincing lies

Like a seedling dropped from and old oak tree
Your shade don't hide no sun from me
Fake stories humor me
It's graduation time
I love you like a mother

General Commenti always got an impression that it was about an older woman trying to impress a younger man with outrageous lies about all the things she's done in her life to make herself seem interesting and appealing to him, as well as to convince herself she hasn't wasted her life. perhaps its all the teacher/student and 'love you like a mother' lines...

General Commentthis song is so amazing... it reminds me of this guy i know; he tells these outrageous and obviously untrue stories, but he tells them so well that you laugh and become enthralled and you begin to believe him.

General Commentyeah, i had a friend who was totally like this... she was a big liar, but i think she maybe even believed what she was saying, a little bit. all her stories were "construed with self empowering themes", very much so. very catchy song, too

General Commentmy friend Krietman is a lot like this.. or at least it used to be. she'd make up ridiculous stories that we all knew were lies, but she told them so well that it was funny and captivating, in a way. However, it got old.. really quick.. when we all saw how much of a bitch she was

General CommentThe guy seems to be singing to someone who tells all these big stories and lies that although everyone knows they aren't really real, this person enthralls you so much you sometimes forget about the fakeness of the stories, and the guy singing recognises that the person almost needs to believe the stories themselves, to battle their own insecurities.

General Comment"Planning big coud be a gamble I've already rolled the dice"
    - he's started a relationship with her and he's feeling really nervous about it but he's not going to make any promises about the outcome or try to be perfect.

He's not going to lie to her, but only if he can't.
He's going to mess with her head,
he's going to live his life and expect her to live hers,
and he's human, so yeah, he's gonna let her down.

As far as the "I am all bone I am two tone red as a newborn white as a corpse".. I thought it was a physical description.
He's thin- "all bone", red-headed and white skinned. But it could also have a double meaning, some have already
    been discussed here.
"Just want you to know that I'm still a fan, get it?" I think of as meaning that he likes her- he's a "fan" of hers, and...
I thought it meant that he was "high" too. He does make a lot of pot references in other songs.

General CommentOops! Wrong song, I don't know how to take it off.

I love Hokis too. It reminds me of a friend I used to idolize in school. She lied about everything but for a long time I didn't mind because I liked to hear it like.. "fake stories humor me". Ahh, but I could only take that for so long.

General CommentThis song is most likely about a student and teacher relationship. The boy has fallen for the teacher who tells him things that are exaggerated, but he fell for her lies for quite some time unt he grows older and realizes her stories were untrue. Still he loves her in the end as they both move on.
