turns out they were wrong all this time. turns out there was proof all ths time. turns out, no before, no after. just now. turns out this book has been written. it's proven, there is no master plan. turns out we just needed something to believe. faith turns to science and progress. days fly by in seconds.
in time, the structure is split at the seams. in time, life loses all meaning. love, just a chemical imbalance.
in time, the walls will crumble and man will fall. it's only a matter of time... the cement cracks. evolution is natural.
we had faith in a fable. we believed every word. we work like our fathers. we do what our fathers say.
we believed like our fathers. we believed every word. it's only a matter of time.

what a great song. to me, the lyrics are talking about religion in a sense that most of it is all lies, and that people in a society jsut needed something to believe. The line "we believed like our fathers. we believed every word. it's only a matter of time," is saying how when growing up, most kids have their parents force their religious beliefs on them, so they really have no choice but to believe every word of the bible or the church or what have you.

Uh...I don't really see it as either of those. From the way Luke writes, he seems to be in a certain state of panic throughout most of this album. While it may be saying religion is wrong, I think it focuses mostly on the suffocating notion that a single person when viewed against hundreds of millions of years of change, most of which can never even be learned about as is. Sort of accepting that life is lived in vain and we're going to die and be forgotten. Pretty hopeless song if you ask me.

I heard this song in the beginning of what became a very rough period of my life. It has meant a lot of things at different times, but after about 12 years of listening to these guys, this song means that everything changes. No matter what, there is no right or wrong way to be, whether the guide of morality is religion, science, family values, philosophy, there is nothing in this world that can ever be truly constant except for change. All the incidentals (in the song and in life) are simply some of those "concrete" aspects of life that many people blindly follow. So, basically, to me, this song means to keep an open mind and to live your life instead of staying inside the invisible lines.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/
