This wasn't my favorite Gackt song at first. It was still great, you know, anything by Gackt is. But then when I saw the music video, it totally changed my mind. I love it even more than I did before. (^-^)

This song is about a lover (well in my mind, a lover) who is struggling. The narrator tells his lover to go into the sky, become something great. The imagery is very phoenix-oriented, and beautiful. It could also be about death or a break-up. He says, "It's so cold." and "It hurts."

ps, you weaboos, this is where you interpret the song, not just say how much you like it.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.
