In regards to the meaning of this song:
Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.”
That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

i have always. dreamed of my own cinderella story. and i had my sweet 16 and my first real relationship around the same time. and my boyfriend i'm still with def. made me feel like a cinderella and he was my prince. i even had little glass slippers. and this is one of those songs that can really make me cry. one of the few. and plus he sang it to me one day because he knew i loved it and everything
my boyfriend just asked me out last nite (well tech this mornin at 2 or 3 somethin) and we were talkin about music and i just told him... i mentioned this song and i told him i said "i feel like cinderella... and youre my prince charming" and he just told me " you are my princess" it was amazing!!! i would say maybe fairy tales do come true... but even a fairy tale cant be this great!!
