Impetus Lyrics

Justification, the means are the end
Doctrine and dogma, I will not relent
This world a garden in need of such weeding
This world a minefield in need of such sweeping

This ministration without full consent
Fire and brimstone, I will not relent
Just as all good things must come to an end
I will administer as I see fit

I will not relent
I will not relent
I will not relent
I am driven

Impetus

I am driven

It looks like it is spoken from the point of view of a war-mongering leader. "The means are the end" most likely meaning that the way of getting his way is the end of life. We know that Neil writes often about war-mongerers, i.e. Blast Tryrant, so it seems to fit. Looking at any given line it seems to fit well.

I think it's about fascism or as cape kid said a tyrant. Impetus as the song implies is to move and attack. the person is imposing there will to 'Sweep' and 'Weed' the world.
