I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.
If you squeeze my lizard
I'll put my snake on you
I'm a romantic adventure
And I'm a reptile too
But it don't make no difference
'cos I ain't gonna be, easy, easy
the only time I'm easy's when I'm
Killed by death
Killed by death
Killed by death
Killed by death
I'm a lone wolf ligger
But I ain't no pretty boy
I'm a backbone shiver
and I'm a bundle of joy
But it don't make no difference
'cos I ain't gonna be, easy, easy
the only time I'm easy's when I'm
Killed by death
Killed by death
Killed by death
Killed by death
But it don't make no difference
'cos I ain't gonna be, easy, easy
the only time I'm easy's when I'm
Killed by death
Killed by death
Killed by death
Killed by death
I'll put my snake on you
I'm a romantic adventure
And I'm a reptile too
But it don't make no difference
'cos I ain't gonna be, easy, easy
the only time I'm easy's when I'm
Killed by death

Killed by death

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988.
"'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it."
"There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Punchline

Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.

Another Love
Tom Odell
Tom Odell
I think the meaning is pretty clear. This person got really burned in a previous relationship, and because of this is unable to love and show care in his present one, even though he so badly wants to. It's lovely song, and very sad. You can really feel how defeated and frustrated he is with himself.
Fuck all you idiots this song isn't meant to be complex elitist art crap, this is straight forward rock n roll and murders 99% of other music. Fucking killer song.
Motorhead are one of the greatest bands to ever grace the world of music, and this is a fine example.
@AnarchistUK SwagFag can't understand rock'nRoll<br />
@AnarchistUK Well said and infinite respect to Lemmy because stating that you'll "only be easy when I'm killed by death" when you're high on life in your early 30s and actually living true to that until the end of your life at 70 is something not many can achieve! Authenticity and integrity at it's finest!
Sometimes words that sound good together, have a great rhythm and cadence, etc. are not always understandable or could even be simplistic.
It's only rock and roll, man! Turn it up to 11 and enjoy!
I hope today's crappy so-called hip hop/pop music is Killed by Death. This song totally rocks \m/
Fuck you! Lemmy is a legend and so many great bands owe a debt of gratitude to him.
The first verse is about sex
Basically I think this song is saying that the only time he will be comfortable or esy to get along with will be when he is dead or killed by death...
This song could mean being killed ONLY by death OR being killed by everything BUT death. Fist one is someone brave and bold and the second one is the exact opposite. Even though I strongly believe that Lemmy is referring to the first meaning.
Lemmy will be the first to admit that his lyrics ain't rocket science. Nothing wrong with that.
He's an antisocial loner who doesn't see eye to eye with many others at all. He ain't easy to get along with.
... the only time he's going to do anything willingly and without raising hell about it is when death comes knocking because it's inevitable and pointless to fight it.
Simple.
Oh, and it's one of Motorhead's best songs ever.
@boneyard23 Lemmy was anything but an antisocial loner mate, he always surrounded himself by large groups of the people he liked. He just chose his company.
I've had the pleasure of seeing Motorhead live - twice. Liverpool Royal Court, and Liverpool University.
And like the other poster has stated - Killed by Death is one of his finest moments. The leads are perfect, charging me with energy, almost forcing me to commit crime! :)
You've got to love Motorhead - it does what it says on the tin, so to speak.
You'll not find Lemmy with the San Fran Symphony.... like SellOUTtica. Oh I'd end it all then :)
Fuckin great song...very simple text and very good music. u gotta love it especially first few verses. "squeeze my lizzard" =D
