i don't think its about sex. i think its about a breakup that she's trying to get over but she thinks she wants to go back.

Yeah, I agree more with what troiaj said, its about self-doubt, not sex.
This song has me more confused than most. My best guess is that it is about sexual frustration or more specifically her frustration and ambivalance about losing her virginity to some specific guy. I say this in the context of the song "not a virgin anymore" and some interview material that indicates she lost her virginity later than most. Still this idea doesn't quite fit with all the lyrics.
