Hate to be the one to say it but for some reason this song sounds like it's coming from a sexual place. He's seeing mirages of her, basically fantasizing about her and trying to contain his sexual excitement. (I won't lose it) He is strong and can control himself. |

It sounds like a long distance relationship. He probably flies by night, and there's a time zone difference, hence the line, "and tomorrow's still a night away." The song definitely sounds a little conflicted, which leads me to believe that maybe he's considering breaking up with her. "It's late and I just wanna go home." And it's not because he doesn't love her, because he clearly does, he dreams about her and he doesn't want her to leave him. I got a lot of this from the last verse, which I think is a metaphor for the strain of the long distance. He has a place in her heart, but it's been "boarded" because he can't handle the lifestyle. I don't know. |

| Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin – Heers Lyrics

This song means a lot to me. I'm going into my senior year of high school and I just started the process of applying to college, so I've been thinking a lot about my future lately and I'm terrified of the unknown. And I don't think many people ever really figure out what it is that they want out of life. To me, the first verse of this song says just that. It also plays on this idea of introspection. We all yearn to take a lesson from our past, to reach into that child-like imagination where there are no borders. We can be anything we want to be, right? And children certainly know what they want out of life then because they have yet to meet the "restrictions" of reality. The chorus is a little pessimistic to me, and it's pretty self-explanatory. As we age the world opens up to us. We go from being confined to our yards, to our blocks, then to our towns, and eventually we reach the age where we're free to go anywhere, and when we hit that point we realize that maybe the world isn't as big as we thought it was. Everything's fine until it questions the state of happiness. A lot of thinks can stall happiness. Taxes, bills, family expenses, and economics in general prevent us from taking the chances and doing things that will make us truly happy. "The grounds moving under me, but to where?" suggest that life can lead us to places we could never expect. For some reason I think that Ms. Suzie might have been his teacher, and he's apologizing for acting like an idiot in her class, like kids often do. "I wanna see you again" could be referring to a friend of his from his childhood. I think we all have someone that we used to know, who we would love to just catch up with and talk about how life has been since we've parted ways with them. It's a song about coming to age I guess. |

This is a perfect song to close the album, and it really works well in contrast to Zoom. And I think as a cap to the album it's kind of reflecting on how we happen upon the revelation that someone isn't as perfect as we thought they were. "It's easiest to say we are young, it's okay." That's kind of the scapegoat; she was never perfect, but he was too young to realize it at the time. And "seasons change, you're not the same" is saying time changes people, and sometimes not for the better. I also really love "In your head, I'm cast aside," because it sort of reinforces the quasi self-loathing aspect of the album. It's rationalization. And then the closing line, "Can you be my hardest decision?" What is he deciding, exactly? Perhaps it's a relapse, he can't tolerate the idea that he can't have her, so maybe it's a question of whether to give it up or try in spite of what the reality may be. |

Also, I really like how the song starts out as a tape being played. It kind of reinforces the idea that the entire album was written in a "retrospective point of view." This is a look on a past events and it's about coming to terms with them. |

So I was listening to an acoustic version of this song, and I made out "You want to know just how I cope. I'll tell you: I tell myself, 'it's alright.'" I think it's really neat. I love everything about this entire album, and I know it's probably really cliche, but to me, it all just screams not being able to have someone that you want. And I think that's really emphasized by the whole "In A Million Years" part, because isn't that what people say when they hear an absurd proposal? Something that'll happen "in a million years" is something that'll never happen. |

This song is overly addictive. I feel like I'm on drugs when I'm listening to it. Not that I really know what that's like...Anyway, it's just so lightening and vibrant and alive. It really makes you question too. I think it's all about the fear of commitment. "Say you mean it, seal it up. Say you wanna try." It's about begging your love to accept what you know they feel. "Why won't you believe in it 'til it's gone?" The low point of all human characteristics, we want things we can't have and we realize what we want too late. Love is such an ineffable emotion, and it seems pointless to even try to describe what it is...Or maybe this song is about setting your iPod to shuffle, and you hear a song that you think you might like, but you decide to skip over it, and by the time you realize that you wanted to listen, it's already gone. I'll let you guys decide that. |

I think that this song is about human curiosity. We're naturally drawn to do the things that others say we can't. I think it's also about taking occasional risks in life.
Stop. 'cause you go too far.
You know you shouldn't, yet here you are.
Honey, here we are.
It implies that had neither of them taken the risks they had, they wouldn't have ended up together. |

Alright, Texas tea is a term that refers to petroleum. So I guess this song is about being exploited by the oil industry. They burn down fields and destroy land so that they can get to the "black gold," or oil, that lies beneath. And everybody else has to pay the price for what they're doing. |

I had no idea what "find our feet" meant. So I asked my friend, and apparently it's an idiom that means becoming used to a new situation. So I suppose that this song is saying that being wise means you have to always be willing to try new things. So my interpretation would be "A lot of people don't know what they want in life because they haven't tried enough things to discover what makes them happy." |

| The Non-Commissioned Officers – Love Will Conquer All Lyrics
| 14 years ago

It seems to me like it's about a king who put relationships out of the way in pursuit of fame and success. When he finally reaches the top he realizes that he was letting himself miss out on something important. He hides his feelings by saying he's too busy taking official business, like waging war. But his feelings are too strong, and he realizes that the one he loves is waiting for him. Ultimately, he can't conquer his feeling because love is too strong of an emotion to suppress.
"fingers without hand" most likely means he's longing to hold someones hand.
So he's "tearing at his string" or trying to break away from whatever is holding him back.
This is one of the lyrics I was unsure about, but "We have a poison plan, it's more than a bad dream." might mean that he's sabotaging himself without realizing the severity of the consequences.
I think it's just a beautiful song about how nobody wants to be alone, and love is more important than material possessions.
My interpretation is probably far from what was intended when it was written.

| Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin – Some Constellation Lyrics

Translating it literally, I got that the song is about a guy standing outside a girls window. Hence the line "I'm tired of standing in the light outside her window" The first verse is describing what he can see. Her room is decorated with paper lanterns, and there are glow in the dark stars stuck to her ceiling. In the second half, he's started watching her. He's conflicted because he knows what he's doing is wrong and debates leaving. It's kind of creepy actually. But as you know, nothing can be taken literally. The entire song is symbolic of his relationship with her. He's always on the outside, admiring her from afar rather than approaching her. He knows so much about her but she doesn't know he exists. He knows he's never going to end up with her, but he can't get over thinking about her. And the missing lyrics really tie the whole idea in. It's not right, because he's the one who cares about her the most but she'll never know, and the only time he can get near her is in the middle of the night, when she doesn't know he's around. It's honestly the most beautiful song I've ever heard. |

I kind of always though that it had to do with religion because of the line "I think you are so anointed, that's why you get so disappointed" Anointing usually refers to religious ceremonies. So maybe it's saying that people put too much faith in the existence of the unknown rather than living their life for themselves. |

I feel like this song is saying that things, or people, or ideas fade with time and get overlooked easily when they're old. But that you shouldn't disregard things that are old because they often have a rich history and can easily be fixed up. Very nostalgic and a little sad. Either that or it's just about some old clothing some guy found in his attic. Your choice. |

I feel like this song is about wasted potential. Not realizing until it's too late that you could of been something bigger. You're looking at the city outside your window, watching things pass you by. It's the architects and engineers, the ones who worked harder to be where they are, that are doing something worthwhile. That's just what I get out of it. |

Every once in a while, I'll have an experience in my life that allows me to relate to a song. Unfortunately, today was one of those days. I found out that a girl I care a lot about is dating another guy. I feel helpless in the situation because, like the narrator of the song, I've never been able to make that romantic connection with her. I would do anything to make things work with her if she gave me the chance. The verse that starts off "I heard he wrote you a song" is my favorite verse. It communicates the inability to describe someone's worth through words. And my favorite part is the "ooh's" following that verse, you can hear the pain in the way its sung. I really hope I would never understand this song, but I do /= Anyway, that's my emotional rant for the day! Enjoy the song! |

I don't think that you can say that that's the only point of the song. It would be more correct to say that it's the style of the song. It's a typical love song, basically stating that the person being sung about is too great or too complicated to express through words. The haiku format add a special touch to the song that makes it unique and interesting. |

Is the lyric really "her army jacket" Because I always here "her only jacket" I don't know, I feel like that would make more sense. Either way, it's a beautiful song. "For her, I would row to the ends of my imagination" I can't get over the beauty of that line. |

It sounds to me like the singer has feelings for a girl who's into someone else. The 1st, 3rd, and 5th verses are implying that this guy seems to hold some position of importance, or at least seems to look good on the outside, but the reality is that he's not as great as he's cracked up to be, and he'll never be able to have the same feelings for this girl as the singer does. |

I always think about the girl I like when I hear this song. I've had feelings for her for months now, and I have yet to tell her how I feel. And the part that goes "I do love, she does heartbreak" is how I feel when I'm talking to her, because I get the vibe that she's not interested. All I can think about is how I'd feel if I finally worked up the confidence to make a move and found out that she doesn't feel the same way. Anyway, I'm kind of a hopeless romantic and that's what comes to mind when I hear this. |
