Clearly about a break up. Im going through the same shit right now. See, to me its about how the girl cheated on him. He was madly in love with her then she cheats. Has love lost its meaning?" Means hes not letting her fuck him over anymore. Shes cheated and hes trying to move on and forget. I wanted to be done with her. Wanted nothing to do with her, didnt even wanna be her friend. Then we started talking again and she wants another chance but I just dont know if I can trust her. | You guys are exactly write. Mitch wrote the song about his friend from high school. I read about it in a revolver magazine article. I think theres more to the song though. Hes also talking about his problems with God. I think the reason Mitch is Atheist is because of his friend committing suicide because his friend wanted help from God but God didnt help him. | |

I think the songs about waking up and getting over a funk. "After midnight's glow and morning's gloom has settled in its self-inflicted sense of self-loathing. Waking up from the longest dream where we're all running away, running away, it's a sobering experience." Clearly a metaphor to the songs meaning. After a long rough night, after a bad experience morning is coming and its comforting to us. "Still sinking, still spinning still hanging by a thread. I've been thinking I'll stop wasting the days away and make life worth living." The songs actual meaning I believe. It says "Im still hurting, but Im gonna chin up and get over it because I still have a life to live." "Controlling these demons and stopping sirens from screaming. Lapsing in and out of this great escape, a love-hate relationship." I think this part of the song refers to a sort of story on the album. I think this is the 3rd part of "With a thousand words to say but one" and "sound the surrender" "We're all stuck in our ways and as we drown everyday we revel in our self-indulgence and wonder why we feel trapped in our bodies, in our rooms, and in our cities, with our words." We need to break the cycle of our self-destruction. We're all stuck in doing so and dont realize it but we wonder why we feel so trapped even though the answers right in front of out faces. |

| To me its about the break up. Its the follow up to "With A Thousand Words To Say but One" on the album. Hes getting revenge for what she did to him. Hes pissed now. Thats why its one of the more fast paced song on the album. The solo and the double kick has tons of anxiety and they showed the craziness of it all in the video when the guys head starts spinning all crazy. | |

I agree with both of you from a Christian stand point but Im an Atheist and Im gonna tell you what the lyrics mean to me. "we have all heard what we wanted to hear truth that sounds right to our ears" I believe it means how biased a person can be. People choose to ignore listening to reason, think what they want to think despite what anyone else says and hear what they want to hear. If someone doesnt believe in something that they do the odd ball generally gets shut out because they anger the others for thinking differently. "but what wisdom is there within us to live based on the feeling of our hearts how many times has instinct let us down never to be thought through never to be questioned" We act too hasty and we act too rashly though despite how often it fails for us we never try to learn from it or question it. "say what you really mean when your ambition calls you for what use is there in praying if you will only hear what you want to hear?" We beat around the bush and bite our tongues when we should speak out against something we disagree with but we normally just ignore those things to avoid conflict. What use is there talking, praying, or thinking about something if we do nothing and let it come as it is, as we want to hear even though we might really not want it. We always choose to fight and take our anger out on others causing more problems. We never look at ourselves and take the time to reflect on the damage we may cause. If we have tried to live differently, or better then why do we live the same and worse? "there is no difference between us and them if we all blindly seek truth from sentiments" We get angry at people because there different or vice versa though we're really not so different because we're angry. All we do is blindly let our emotions guide is without thinking things through. |
