Tranquil Lyrics
this decaying flesh
is coming back to life
reanimate me, give me a chance
and i'll be right here
when the sun hits the sea
watching these waves wash the pain away
and it will radiate so brilliantly
that we can keep pushing on and get on with life
cause we deserve it
now i know
that the worst part is behind us now
onward and upward
we take flight on bruised and battered wings
we soar above our clouded thoughts
never looking back
we can regain a sense of balance
gone so long
this decaying flesh
is coming back to life
reanimate me, give me a chance
to reason with the odds
and pick myself back up
regain a balance that's been gone so long
now i know
that the worst part is behind us now
now i know
that we can get on with life
cause we deserve it
is coming back to life
reanimate me, give me a chance
when the sun hits the sea
watching these waves wash the pain away
and it will radiate so brilliantly
that we can keep pushing on and get on with life
cause we deserve it
that the worst part is behind us now
onward and upward
we soar above our clouded thoughts
never looking back
we can regain a sense of balance
gone so long
is coming back to life
reanimate me, give me a chance
to reason with the odds
and pick myself back up
regain a balance that's been gone so long
that the worst part is behind us now
now i know
that we can get on with life
cause we deserve it

This song-the entire album-is a total work of art. Basically, it's like John Henry says, this album is about making life worth living, and deals with all these different emotions in the process. Tranquil is just bringing it to a close, the rebirth...it's stated in the first line 'this decaying flesh is coming back to life,' who he was has died, and he is now a new person.
The long instrumental outro of the the song is absolutely brilliant, as is the entire song itself. I love that the song brings the album to a close perfectly, and how it fades out in the same manner that "With a Thousand Words to Say But One" faded in. The entire album is structured perfectly, and there's so much emotion (without being whiny cut-your-wrists sort of thing) that it's like someone punched you in the chest at some points throughout this album. The emotion in some of the songs hits me so hard it's not even fair. Favorite album of all time, I'm not kidding. I love John Henry (I can say that totally guilt free and honestly, because my boyfriend has the same name :D)
Haha I agree with you. This is probably my favorite album ever lyrically though I did love Deliver Us. Their newest cd sucks though.

This song is sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet.
I like the high and low pinch harmonics at the beginning of the solo.
This song is about a turning point in the singer's life where he all of the sudden starts living totally different. All the bad things are behind him and he's finally happy. "These fevered times" and "paradise" lead up to this point. in " Tranquil" he has finally reached the point in his life where he can start living and stop going through all the pain that is elaborated on in the rest of the album. Sickkkk song, sick album.
