| The Fray – Say When Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I'm glad someone else agrees with me. Everyone seems to be going on about You Found Me, but I think this song is miles better. | |
| Paramore – Decode Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Actually I think the: How did we get here? I use to know you so well How did we get here? Well, I think I know Might refer to New Moon and what happens after the party. I won't say any more in case I spoil it for someone who hasn't finished the saga. Those who've read NM should know what I mean... |

| Funeral for a Friend – Beneath The Burning Tree Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
I agree that there are strong themes of sex running through this song. I get the idea that its about a relationship that failed due to a confusion between love and sex, and that he wants to move on and find a true relationship, but he knows he'll always be tainted by his previous one. I love the sound of this song, it's a new style for FFAF but it works. And that chorus keeps getting stuck in my head. |
|
| Funeral for a Friend – You Can't See The Forest For The Wolves Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
I love this song. The lyrics in the verses are amazing. That guitar riff is immense. Meaning-wise, I think its like when you view the world as it really is for the first time, when you lose your naivety and become sceptical. And because everything you see goes against your belief system, you start doubting your beliefs and questioning everything you've been told. |
|
| Funeral for a Friend – Ghosts Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| This is possibly my favourite song on the album. The lyrics are very obvious in meaning but the simplicity just adds to the emotion in the song. The guitar riff and Matt's vocals just work in such harmony in this song, they weave in and out of each other so well. | |
| Funeral for a Friend – Someday The Fire... Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I think this song is about feeling empty and hollow because of the monotony of everyday life, and the idea that you have to do something if you want to change the life you're living. Thats what it means to me anyway. | |
| Funeral for a Friend – Maybe I Am? Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| oh and I think it's 'was never down to me' not 'up to me' | |
| Funeral for a Friend – Maybe I Am? Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
I think this song is about all the doubts you have when a relationship is failing. What's going wrong? Is it me, is it you? Can we fix this? etc... This was the first song on the album I really fell in love with. Reminds me a lot of their older material. And I agree, I think it's 'greet' not 'meet' |
|
| Sugarcult – Explode Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I think the 'I need a Jesus' line may allude to the idea of a musical saviour. Someone to save radio from the disgrace that is the majority of mainstream music. | |

| Hinder – Get Stoned Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I don't know what it is about this band. I absolutely hate the lyrics to all their songs but for some reason I just can't stop listening to them, and the more I listen the more their songs get stuck in my head. Dead annoying, especially trying to defend the lyrics. But damn catchy! | |
| Hinder – Use Me Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
hehe I shouldn't like this song as much as I do....or this band for that matter...guilty pleasure alright! As for meaning, it's not exactly a puzzle to work out! |
|
| Augustana – Hey Now Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
lyrics are wrong. these are from the booklet: sky black and blue, blue turn to red, it’s quiet in the streets now, but it’s screaming in your head i ain’t a fool, but i’ve got my doubts, say it doesn’t hurt, it doesn’t matter anyhow, anyhow... hey we’re just bleeding for nothing, it’s hard to breathe when you’re standing on your own, we’ll kill ourselves to find freedom, you’ll kill yourself to find anything at all... so lock all the doors, and put your child to rest, there’s fire in the streets now, but it’s quiet in your head... we’re passing the time, by breaking apart, we’re damned at the end, and we’re damned at the start, blame it on the roses, blame it on the red, we’re running out of time, and i’m running out of breath, hey now, we’re bleeding for nothing, it’s hard to breathe when you’re standing on your own, we’ll kill ourselves to find freedom, you’ll kill yourself to find anything, we say goodbye, everyday and nite, we write it on the walls, well everybody’s gonna need somebody, to take our troubles and our worries and our problems all away, hey now, hey now, hey now right now... |
|
| Elliot Minor – Jessica Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| yeah this song is pretty obvious, but still awesomely catchy, even if the lyrics are a tiny bit shallow...but just because there aren't any deep metaphors, doesn't mean the lyrics aren't clever... | |
| Apocalyptica – Bittersweet Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| hehe...sorry that comment about bring me to life being by linkin park and evanescence was too hilarious to pass up on commenting, even if someone else has already corrected the twit...the male vocalist is Paul McCoy from 12 stones...i mean, my God, chester sounds NOTHING like Paul...retard...oh and 12 Stones are NOT a 'fag band'...their music is awesome, even if the lyrics aren't the best. | |
| Nightmare Of You – Why Am I Always Right Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
the chorus is what my mums been saying to me all 20 years of my life...well the drinking bit only for the last 2 lol. To me its about being in a relationship, possibly an engagement, with an alcoholic who hasn't got past their issues. The alcoholic is all swept up in planning the marriage and their future happiness, and she's so swept up in that, that she can't see the very basic flaws in the underlying relationship. |
|
| The Working Title – The Crash Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| theres a strong element of living for the moment and seizing life and love with all you have in this song. To me its about risking everything and going all in. | |
| The Working Title – Nothing Less Radiant Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
I'm not entirely sure what this song means but I have a few out-there ideas. Possibly about a clandestine relationship...with lines such as 'when we feel undenied' and 'now we're fading into this world of desire and shame', and 'baby its just a kiss. why do we compromise'. It could be about a guy/girl who is in a relationship but finds themself attracted to someone else and not sure what to do. Its like every time they meet they feel their attraction getting stronger, like in the line 'Every night there is a change. There is an obvious change' and 'Searching for something so much. More there's so much here,' not sure though, just my thoughts. |
|
| The All-American Rejects – Dirty Little Secret Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| at the minute this has a lot of significance...whilst I don' think it's necessarily about cheating, it can apply to that sort of situation. I keep hooking up with this dude who has a gf...so yeah this song makes me feel like a right bitch, which of course I am being...bah yay for self-loathing..(!) | |
| Augustana – Lonely People Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
i agree with cubbyblues too...makes more sense... I only just realised how awesome this song is...I've had it a while but it always got left in the background, besides the likes of Boston and Stars and Boulevards... Thee's just so much emotion in his voice in this song... |
|
| Augustana – Feel Fine Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| edoras, I had that very same version (I got it off of Ares)...I think it's a demo version of this song. I searched again and tried to download another file and I got these lyrics and a fuller-sounding fully produced song. | |
| The Goo Goo Dolls – Iris Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| one of my favourite songs of all time...not an exaggeration, it actually is. it's stayed with me all the way through my teenage years, through all sorts of situations. and listening to it now for like the bazillionth time, it still moves me to tears, partly because of the words and partly because of the memories associated with them. | |
| Timbaland – One and Only Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
I love this song! I can't get enough of it...I'm a huge fall out boy fan, and I always liked timbaland (even if i don't like his genre of music) but although this collaboration doesn't entirely surprise me (because of Pete's whole hip-hop/rap connections), I didn't expect it to be this great! And actually, on close inspection, it does sounds like 'rock' but that could just be Pat's voice. Pat saying 'fucking'- *melts* |
|
| Madina Lake – True Love Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I love that bassline, its such an amazing opening riff... | |
| OneRepublic – Dreaming Out Loud Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I really have no idea what this song means but I just wanted to say I love the simplicity of this song, and that this band are awesome and amazing and write really moving songs. I hope they get the recognition they deserve :) | |
| Timbaland – Apologize Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
I love this remix, Timbaland has done an amazing job!! Not sure if it beats the original OneRepublic version, but it does come close. I definately don't think its about suicide, the rope thing is a metaphor for keeping someone hanging. For me, this song had great significance a while ago coz my bf broke up with me leaving me heartbroken and then a few months later he wanted to get back together and he started apologising and stuff but even though I wanted him back and still loved him, I knew that I couldn't go there, and that his apology wasn't enough. As a last point, can I just say I am soooo happy that OneRepublic are getting some recognition finally...I've been in love with this song for like a year...way to go Timbaland I guess :) |
|
| Madina Lake – Pandora Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| this song reminds me of this guy I want who's taken, but who I dance with and occassionally kiss...I am sooo Pandora, just without the sex :P | |
| Avril Lavigne – You Never Satisfy Me Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
I really love this song....it should have been on Under My Skin... ahhhh, this song reminds me of how good Avril used to be...before the new album which totally sucks IMO. |
|
| Copeland – You Have My Attention Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| i don't agree actually. I love this song whether I'm single or in a relationship. It has more meaning when you're in love, obviously, but its still a gorgeous song nevertheless. | |
| Craig Armstrong – Wake up in New York Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I actually heard this on Brothers and Sisters and just had to find out what song it was. This is a really gorgeous song, and really emotive too. I think its pretty self explanatory, just really like when you just wanna lie next to someone and forget the world and forget the issues or fights in the relationship. Sometimes lying next to someone you love, with no words and no sounds needed, is the ultimate cure. | |
| Straylight Run – The Tension and the Terror Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
I can kinda see how the lyrics fit into the whole underage girlfriend idea...and the fact that tthis song has a different meaning to everyone just proves this is definately a Straylight Run song. To me, I find myself listening to this song all the time coz right now I really like a mate of mine but he has a girlfriend but sometimes when we're together its like a constant electrical moment where we each wanna kiss the other one but know we can't. :( |
|
| Fightstar – One Day Son Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| i think the line in the chorus is 'Take up your aim' not 'shake' | |
| Amos Lee – Sympathize Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I can't believe no-one's commented on this song....it's so gorgeous...I can't work out what its about entirely but IMO the narrator is observing people in tragic situations or generally depressed, and he can sympathise. It's like lots of different scenarios, each verse deals with one person's tragedy. Like a window into the lives of a collection of people. | |
| Something Corporate – Konstantine Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| this song is just beyond special...beyond amazing...it has so much meaning, and is one of the few songs that can move me to tears | |
| 12 Stones – Arms of a Stranger Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
haha Matt I thought something was off. Again the meaning is pretty obvious...the guy's been away for a while and when he comes back he finds that his missus has been cheating on him. And instead of taking the angry position, Paul's decided to focus on the hurt. I love the line..'it's you mistake, I finally see that'...its something I can relate to, finding excuses for the person who hurt you...taking the blame yourself because it's easier to handle than blaming the other person |
|
| 12 Stones – World So Cold Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
this is such an amazing song...its tragic and moving...it really highlights the maturity of 12 stones as a band...one of the high points of this album. The meaning is pretty obvious...its someone seeing how cold and cruel our world is slowly becoming... The lyrics are powerful and emotional...it's like a full personal experience just listening to this song. |
|
| 12 Stones – This Dark Day Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
it is pretty great...Paul's voice on this track is amazing..he's really worked on his vocals. This song is about addiction...literally pill abuse but I think the meaning can be applied to any addiction. He's beating this habit slowly and it's like he's willing himself to keep going...it's really uplifting and powerful. |
|
| 12 Stones – Adrenaline Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| To me, it seems like this guy's been lusting after this girl (or vice versa) for a while and now its come to the climax...i.e. sex lol. It seems like this a song all about sex...long awaited sex. | |
| 12 Stones – Anthem for the Underdog Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| man is this band underrated...I'm glad in a way because it means they won't become media whores...but in a way I wish more people could hear them...12 Stones are amazing...glad to see they haven't disappointed with this album. | |
| Breaking Benjamin – Medicate Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| to me this song is just about vices....sex games, drugs and rebellion/anarchy....basially just about the stereotypical view of 'fun' | |
| Breaking Benjamin – No Games Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I always thought I heard fellated and then convinced myself that I was just filthy minded...guess Ben's just as filthy :P | |
| Frou Frou – Psychobabble Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
To me this song sums up my personal situation with my ex...I still have remnants of feelings for him, but he broke my heart...I got over him and now he wants back with me...and I'm not falling for his crap anymore, despite my feelings...and he thinks I will, like I've been giving him mixed signals. But thats just the meaning I put on this song... |
|
| Taking Back Sunday – Error Operator (Fantastic Four version) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I prefer the Louder Now version....this is way too polished...the album version is rawer, especially Lazarra's voice...plus the pace in this version just doesn't fit, it's too slow. | |
| The All-American Rejects – Stab My Back Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
I think she's playing mind games with him, so she's acting like the victim, saying that theire relationship broke up 'cause he hurt her...basically she thinks that if she makes him feel guilty, then he'll come running back to her now she's realised what she had with him in the first place. Reminds me a lot of the situation I'm in now, coz this guy did to me what the girl to the guy in this song and now he's wanting me back. But totally love this song and this album...AAR are improving every album....it's good to see :) |
|
| The All-American Rejects – Can't Take It Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
I agree with Fallen Leaves, probably because thats how I relate to this song... I just love the strings in this song...its so musically simple, but the lyrics are more poignant due to the simplicity. Oh and everytime I hear this song I hear the last line of the chorus as 'I watch you go' and I think that makes more sense in the context of the song...not 100% sure though... |
