I'm sorry, CamBam, but I have to correct you. I know Jamie personally (he's my brother-in-law), and he's still very close to Nick. They talk all of the time. And I'm pretty sure Jamie was just in NYC, recording the third album with the Islands. He left the band mainly because he got married to my sister. I'm not sure if I'm supposed to say all of that, but I feel compelled to correct your misunderstanding. Also, "J'aime" in French isn't how you spell Jamie's name in French. "J'aime" means "I like" in French. J'aime vois voir quitter means "I love to see you leave." But it has nothing to do with Jamie. |

It doesn't say fuck me. It says F-U-C-K me. "All the boys and all the girls are begging to if you seek Amy" then turns into, "All the boys and all the girls are begging to F U C K me." Makes much more sense, is much more like Britney, and it's obvious. So obvious, in fact, the they wouldn't have made this song if it didn't mean what everyone thinks it means, because they would have feared a big misunderstanding. :) They probably had to spell it out, instead of actually say it, so that this song could be played on the radio. |

The first time I heard it I wasn't listening closely and it appeared to be song crappy joke of a song about some stupid guy bragging about all of the useless things he can do... But now that I've listened to it closely, I believe it is celebraitng how amazing humans are, and how we can do so many positive things to the world. It represents how influential we are to the entire world, and we have a choice about whether we want to screw the world up or make it a better place. |

That said, I'm very excited for Arm's Way, don't think it will be AS good as Return to the Sea because J'Aime was a better drummer than the guy they replaced him with and Jim Guthrie was a much more interesting lead guitarist as well; but Nick's songwriting is as strong as ever, so undoubtedly it will still be head and shoulders above most of the crap everybody else is coming out with these days. I feel the same way! J'aime is my brother-in-law, so I know my opinion is probably a little biased...but he was SUCH a better drummer. Too bad he got married, I guess.... The Arm is probably my favorite song they ever made, though. |

I LOVE this song. Do you know what I especially love about it? How everyone views the lyrics so differently. First, people thought it was about porn, then about Matt's love for his guitar, and it went into deeper stuff like how technology is developing faster than we are, and all the way to some girlfriend dumping him. I came on here wanting to know what this song was about, but now I don't care. Whatever Matt had in mind when he wrote this song, it doesn't matter. Because he's created something far greater. This song seems to relate to everyone somehow, and however you originally perceived the lyrics describes a lot about you, I think. I don't know... Awesome AWESOME song anyway. |

To ME-and strictly me, this song fitted so well when I moved into a new town. I had so longed for new friends, a different lifestyle, etc. But all I ever got was stares-and pretty soon I realized that I was like a freak in this new town. After that I strived to fit in, but still I wasn't happy. It was only when I gave up trying and just acted like my "freakish" self that I was finally truly happy, with real friends who understood me. But I think this song is really about a person trying hard to be himself, because for years he had strived (like me) to be a complete conformist and fit in with everyone else.
