J'Aime Vous Voir Quitter Lyrics
You said you had my back
But I was attacked by a pack of dogs frothing at the mouth
Stabbed in the face
Glass in my guts, crash!
Passed in the passenger's side
You were drunk
And falling, falling, falling, down
You were falling, falling down
J'aime, j'aime, j'aime, parlez vous
Such a shame, shame shame, shame on you
J'aime, j'aime, j'aime, parlez vous
Can I blame, blame, blame, blame you?
You cut your feet on the glass
In the grass
Shards got stuck in the past
When the footprints you left didn't last
I through you a bone
But you bit one of my own
I'm gonna do it
Without it
It's appalling, appalling, how short your hair can grow
I know there's a problem
When you gave up
You were gone
J'aime, j'aime, j'aime, parlez vous
Such a shame, shame shame, shame on you
J'aime, j'aime, j'aime, parlez vous
Can I blame, blame, blame, blame you?
You said you had my back

i freakin love this song
Isn't the title incorrect, grammatically?
I thought it should be "J'aime Voir Vous Quitter", in other words, 'I love to watch you leave'.
am i the only who doesn't hear the parlez vous part? nice song nevertheless.
It should be partez vous, not parlez vous
Also threw you a bone
one last thing… the line "When it was good, you let it grow" goes right before "I know there's a problem" and after the line "how short your hair can grow"
J'Aime Vous Voir Quitter
I think it's kind of a jab at J'aime, the guy that left the band and compelled Thorburn to state Islands Are Forever
I wonder how rocky their friendship is now.
I'm sorry, CamBam, but I have to correct you. I know Jamie personally (he's my brother-in-law), and he's still very close to Nick. They talk all of the time. And I'm pretty sure Jamie was just in NYC, recording the third album with the Islands. He left the band mainly because he got married to my sister.

I'm not sure if I'm supposed to say all of that, but I feel compelled to correct your misunderstanding.

Also, "J'aime" in French isn't how you spell Jamie's name in French. "J'aime" means "I like" in French. J'aime vois voir quitter means "I...

Even though it's not my opinion, Jamie's stage name with The Unicorns was J'aime Tambeur so i think it's quite within the realm of reason to think that this song concerns him.

"It was written about a certain someone. It was really a reaction to being stabbed in the guts. That was kind of a bitter affair, at the last show we did with Jaime, Nick played that during the soundcheck and then walked off the stage."

Actually, in French it's correct to put the indirect object before the verb, so the title is correct.
i absolutely love how his voice ever so slightly strains on the third and fourth 'blames'. ugh, gets me every time. so damn hot
