Both Scott and Matt had brothers who died of drug overdoses during the making of Libertad. The line "but you set yourself free" is saying that now they're free from the drugs. It all goes back to the title Libertad, which echos in almost every song on the album. |

As I understood it, these are the remnants of the elder race, who had moved away, grown stronger, and now are returning. This is shown in V Oracle: The Dream.

C'mon, ledhed- true, Jagger's a legend (don't get me wrong, I love the stones), but so is Axl. I don't think Jagger's vocals sound at all appropriate for being the devil. The original's a good song, but I don't think the Stones even did justice to their own song. The "solo" was, at the risk of being hated, kind of lame and the song as a whole wasn't hard or dark enough, but the GN'R version fixed that. I think GN'R did the song the way it was supposed to be done. |
