I'm not sure what this song is about really, but it's a beatiful song. I love at the end, when Slash is soloing as it fades, and Scott's all "She's a pretty good dancer" - his voice sounds cool at that part. |

| Velvet Revolver – She Mine Lyrics

This song is about Scott's wife, Mary, who has bipolar disorder, like STP's "Day's of the Week." This song clearly shows how VR has changed, where the first album was straight-ahead hard rock, this album explores a lot of different sounds. |

Oh, this song cracks me up! It's definitely about trannies. Haha- "Seen miles and miles of freaks before." I love it. Great lyrics, combined with a nice talkbox solo from Slash and great guitar work throughout- this is one of my favorites from Libertad. |

| Velvet Revolver – The Last Fight Lyrics
| 18 years ago
|
The Last Fight tells the story of a soldier who is serving overseas, and leaves on bad terms with his wife, comparing the two.
A couple errors in the lyrics:
Second line should read "Like when I was doing time in the can"
Also, it's "One time could be the all the time" |

| Velvet Revolver – For A Brother Lyrics
|
|
Both Scott and Matt had brothers who died of drug overdoses during the making of Libertad. The line "but you set yourself free" is saying that now they're free from the drugs. It all goes back to the title Libertad, which echos in almost every song on the album. |

This song, as well as "For A Brother" are about Scott and Matt's brothers, who both died of drug overdoses during the making of the album.
Also, it's "Spend the night," not "Spread the line." |

This song is what metal's all about. It just plain rocks, and there's no denying it. The "ooh, yea-heah!" at about 2:30 is my favorite... sounds so cool. Great song to drive to and rock out! |

Not that I don't love this song, I'll have to disagree with you, pikespice- it's really not that much of a solo- not even def leppard's best. If you want the greatest in metal, go for some Van Halen, as Eddie is god... and I'm not F-F-F-Foolin! Sorry, just had to do that... always do. |

What the hell is wrong with you, ohwhocares? Skid Row's music is still amazing today- it's not like it's changed. People just listen to such crappy music today they can't appreciate a masterpiece such as this. Skid Row rules, and always will. |

Apparantly, not very many people like Cinderella, though I think they're great. This is one of the best monster ballads of all time, though somewhat bitter-sweet. His woman's gone, and he hurts, but he realizes it's a new start. He'll be alright, and moves on. |

Really thought I already commented on this... maybe I did on the wrong song... if I did, I apologize. Anyway... This is my favorite VH song of all time. Sammy's one party rock song kills all of Dave's, which was pretty much all of them. I just have to roll down the windows and crank this out whenever I'm listening to it. So much fun. Clear meaning- lookin' for lovin' on a hot summer night. Does it get any better? |

Sammy kicks DLR's trash! His songs actually had the occasional meaning to them, besides drinking and partying, which is all Dave's good for. He made Van Halen more than just Eddie's wicked guitar solos, with some actual songwriting to back it up. |

I absolutely love the drum beat at the beginning. I'm constantly playing it with whatever's around me. I think it's just about the energy of playing a live show. One of their harder rocking songs- maybe my favorite of OU812... though the others are great, too... I'll have to think about that... |

Okay... I was just listening to a live version (off "Records"), and I thought I heard him say something that made me do a double take- I wanted to see if I was hearing this right. It sounds like he says "I'll make you famous- I'll start with your anus" Has anyone else heard that? I've always loved the song, but thought that was a little weird... |

I love the playful, laid-back feeling of this song. It's fun to listen to. Clearly about a tough guy who gets changed by his wife and mellows. I once swore to myself I'd never let a woman change me like that, yet now, there's a girl who's affected me more than I care to admit. It just isn't fair... |

Okay- all you people you say it's about gay sex are f'ing crazy! Axl is a total homophobe- no way he's writing a song about it. The sounds are clearly made by a woman- there's no denying that. Don't go around saying crap like that about my hero Slash- there's no way. |

| Skid Row – Big Guns Lyrics
|
I don't think "big guns" has to be literal. I think it's more of a metaphor of how this woman just blows him away. Anyway, this is missing tons of lyrics:
"I met a sidewalk preacher on a roller skate
He said he had the key to heavens gate
I said: I'll wait for the movie 'cause I been there before
And learned: like is a battle and love is war"
"I'm doing time as a back seat romeo
Play solitaire with my hands in the air
Another night and no bullets to spare"
I'm surprised no one's pointed that out. |

This girl thinks he really needs her, so she messes around and thinks he'll still want her, and he's letting her know she means nothing to him- that she's "just a temporary lover", she "ain't the first." Such an awesome song- totally sticks it to the girl. This song also shows GN'R didn't need Axl- the songs without him are some of the best. |

| Rush – 2112 Lyrics

Vi brought up the question earlier of who it was who has "assumed control," and said it must have been some outside force unseen earlier in the song. As I understood it, these are the remnants of the elder race, who had moved away, grown stronger, and now are returning. This is shown in V Oracle: The Dream.
"They left the planet long ago
The elder race still learn and grow
Their power grows with purpose strong
To claim the home where they belong
Home to tear the Temples down...
Home to change!"
Just thought I'd point that out. Absolutely amazing song- I was thrilled to see "Anthem" is on my reading list for English, so I'll have to read it. I figure if Neil will dedicate a masterpiece like this to it, it must be worth reading. Anyway... Rush rules! |

This song is soooo annoying! It was alright the first, say, 10 times I heard it, but I'm so sick of it now I could puke. I swear, radio stations have no taste in music. This song is hecka lame... it really doesn't have any good qualities- the lyrics are repetitive and trite, the guitar playing is awful, and the singer is a freak. Green Day SUCKS! |

I absolutely hate this song- it's awful, yet they feel a need to play it 20 times a day. At work, they play it at least every day, and it completely pisses me off... I have to stop myself from going crazy. Seriously, green day has near no musical talent- they just play power chords. And their new stuff is even worse- their older songs are at least tolerable, but this is just plain awful. |

|
I'm a huge Van Halen fan, and, judging by the number of posts, one of the only ones to see what a great song this is. There's so much more emotion to it than most of their songs- some days, I just sit back and listen to this song, and it just speaks to me. I completely feel the line "outta touch most the time- got too many things on my mind." Great guitar work, great vocals, and I love the changes in tempo. When it first picks up, and Sammy screams "Yeah! Feelin'!"... oh man, blows me away... |

| Guns N' Roses – Sympathy for the Devil (Rolling Stones cover) Lyrics
| 19 years ago

|
C'mon, ledhed- true, Jagger's a legend (don't get me wrong, I love the stones), but so is Axl. I don't think Jagger's vocals sound at all appropriate for being the devil. The original's a good song, but I don't think the Stones even did justice to their own song. The "solo" was, at the risk of being hated, kind of lame and the song as a whole wasn't hard or dark enough, but the GN'R version fixed that. I think GN'R did the song the way it was supposed to be done. |

man, metalhead, you gave a cool mom! Anyway, this is my favorite monster ballad of all time- so many smooth lines- "I live for your smile and die for your kiss," "But nothing else could ever take you away, 'Cause you'll always be my dream come true" just to name a couple. Sebastian has an amazing voice- it works perfectly for this song. Kind of weirdly femmy looking, though... I guess girls think he's good-looking... |
