Velvet Revolver – Gravedancer Lyrics 14 years ago
I'm not sure what this song is about really, but it's a beatiful song. I love at the end, when Slash is soloing as it fades, and Scott's all "She's a pretty good dancer" - his voice sounds cool at that part.

submissions
Velvet Revolver – She Mine Lyrics 14 years ago
This song is about Scott's wife, Mary, who has bipolar disorder, like STP's "Day's of the Week." This song clearly shows how VR has changed, where the first album was straight-ahead hard rock, this album explores a lot of different sounds.

Velvet Revolver – Get Out The Door Lyrics 14 years ago
Oh, this song cracks me up! It's definitely about trannies. Haha- "Seen miles and miles of freaks before." I love it. Great lyrics, combined with a nice talkbox solo from Slash and great guitar work throughout- this is one of my favorites from Libertad.

submissions
Velvet Revolver – The Last Fight Lyrics 14 years ago
The Last Fight tells the story of a soldier who is serving overseas, and leaves on bad terms with his wife, comparing the two.
A couple errors in the lyrics:
Second line should read "Like when I was doing time in the can"
Also, it's "One time could be the all the time"

submissions
Velvet Revolver – For A Brother Lyrics 14 years ago
Both Scott and Matt had brothers who died of drug overdoses during the making of Libertad. The line "but you set yourself free" is saying that now they're free from the drugs. It all goes back to the title Libertad, which echos in almost every song on the album.

submissions
Velvet Revolver – Pills, Demons, Etc. Lyrics 14 years ago
This song, as well as "For A Brother" are about Scott and Matt's brothers, who both died of drug overdoses during the making of the album.
Also, it's "Spend the night," not "Spread the line."

Velvet Revolver – Let It Roll Lyrics 14 years ago
I'm looking at the lyrics right now, and jordanrobbo3 is right on. This song totally rocks! My initial favorite off Libertad, though that will likely change with more listens. VR ROCKS!!!

Metallica – Fuel Lyrics 15 years ago
This song is what metal's all about. It just plain rocks, and there's no denying it. The "ooh, yea-heah!" at about 2:30 is my favorite... sounds so cool. Great song to drive to and rock out!

submissions
Def Leppard – Foolin' Lyrics 15 years ago
Not that I don't love this song, I'll have to disagree with you, pikespice- it's really not that much of a solo- not even def leppard's best. If you want the greatest in metal, go for some Van Halen, as Eddie is god... and I'm not F-F-F-Foolin! Sorry, just had to do that... always do.

submissions
Skid Row – 18 And Life Lyrics 15 years ago
What the hell is wrong with you, ohwhocares? Skid Row's music is still amazing today- it's not like it's changed. People just listen to such crappy music today they can't appreciate a masterpiece such as this. Skid Row rules, and always will.

submissions
Tesla – Love Song Lyrics 15 years ago
Tesla rules! Why don't people see that? I like the nice, creative title for this song. Ha ha... such a great song- I love the intro.

The Monkees – (I'm Not Your) Steppin' Stone Lyrics 15 years ago
I saw Tesla do a cover of this in concert- it was so awesome! Don't take any crap from anyone!

submissions
Cinderella – Heartbreak Station Lyrics 15 years ago
Apparantly, not very many people like Cinderella, though I think they're great. This is one of the best monster ballads of all time, though somewhat bitter-sweet. His woman's gone, and he hurts, but he realizes it's a new start. He'll be alright, and moves on.

submissions
Van Halen – Dirty Movies Lyrics 15 years ago
Do you seriously have to ask about the meaning? It's not like it's subtle, with the shouts of "Take it off!"

submissions
Van Halen – Finish What Ya Started Lyrics 15 years ago
Love the southern twang to this song. A bit different for Van Halen, but they do it really well.

submissions
Van Halen – You're No Good Lyrics 15 years ago
This is a cover, right? Does anyone know who did it originally? Cover or no, it's a great song. I agree that it's under-rated.

Van Halen – Summer Nights Lyrics 15 years ago
Really thought I already commented on this... maybe I did on the wrong song... if I did, I apologize. Anyway... This is my favorite VH song of all time. Sammy's one party rock song kills all of Dave's, which was pretty much all of them. I just have to roll down the windows and crank this out whenever I'm listening to it. So much fun. Clear meaning- lookin' for lovin' on a hot summer night. Does it get any better?

submissions
Van Halen – Black And Blue Lyrics 15 years ago
Oh, man- so dirty... I fell in love with the music before I gave any thought to the lyrics, I felt almost guilty when I realized it... ha ha. Still love the song, though.

submissions
Nerf Herder – Van Halen Lyrics 15 years ago
Sammy kicks DLR's trash! His songs actually had the occasional meaning to them, besides drinking and partying, which is all Dave's good for. He made Van Halen more than just Eddie's wicked guitar solos, with some actual songwriting to back it up.

submissions
Van Halen – A.F.U. (Naturally Wired) Lyrics 15 years ago
I absolutely love the drum beat at the beginning. I'm constantly playing it with whatever's around me. I think it's just about the energy of playing a live show. One of their harder rocking songs- maybe my favorite of OU812... though the others are great, too... I'll have to think about that...

submissions
Van Halen – Me Wise Magic Lyrics 15 years ago
This song is super weird... I mean, I know all those words, but can they be put together like that? I like the song, though- something about the feel of it. I'm just as confused as you, Justintime.

submissions
Van Halen – Good Enough Lyrics 15 years ago
"Hello baby!" That let's you know right there that Sammy can more than fill Dave's place. Great song. I can't believe I'm the only comment.

submissions
Van Halen – Ice Cream Man Lyrics 15 years ago
Goodness, I love this song. How could you not? So much fun. I love how it's all slow at the beginning, then picks up later and rocks. Awesome solo from Eddie, too.

submissions
Queen – Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy Lyrics 15 years ago
Wow... this has got to be the gayest song ever made. It's so bad, it makes me laugh. Especially all the "Hey boy!"s.

submissions
Foreigner – Hot Blooded Lyrics 15 years ago
Okay... I was just listening to a live version (off "Records"), and I thought I heard him say something that made me do a double take- I wanted to see if I was hearing this right. It sounds like he says "I'll make you famous- I'll start with your anus" Has anyone else heard that? I've always loved the song, but thought that was a little weird...

submissions
Van Halen – Big Bad Bill (Is Sweet William Now) Lyrics 15 years ago
I love the playful, laid-back feeling of this song. It's fun to listen to. Clearly about a tough guy who gets changed by his wife and mellows. I once swore to myself I'd never let a woman change me like that, yet now, there's a girl who's affected me more than I care to admit. It just isn't fair...

submissions
John Mayer – Slow Dancing in a Burning Room Lyrics 15 years ago
Velcro? Are you serious? Do you have any sort of sources? Any actually reasonable explanation? You claim that the lyrics are saying something that has nothing to do with the actual lyrics. I mean, seriously... WTF...

submissions
Guns N' Roses – Rocket Queen Lyrics 15 years ago
Okay- all you people you say it's about gay sex are f'ing crazy! Axl is a total homophobe- no way he's writing a song about it. The sounds are clearly made by a woman- there's no denying that. Don't go around saying crap like that about my hero Slash- there's no way.

submissions
Skid Row – Slave To The Grind Lyrics 15 years ago
We're all slaves to the freakin' grind- we have to live by the timelines and expectations of those around us. This song is about breaking away from that and living your own life- something we can all take to heart.

submissions
Skid Row – Big Guns Lyrics 15 years ago
I don't think "big guns" has to be literal. I think it's more of a metaphor of how this woman just blows him away. Anyway, this is missing tons of lyrics:

"I met a sidewalk preacher on a roller skate
He said he had the key to heavens gate
I said: I'll wait for the movie 'cause I been there before
And learned: like is a battle and love is war"

"I'm doing time as a back seat romeo
Play solitaire with my hands in the air
Another night and no bullets to spare"

I'm surprised no one's pointed that out.

Guns N' Roses – Knockin' on Heaven's Door Lyrics 15 years ago
I love the live version of this from live era! It's a faster tempo, and I love the way Axl accentuates the words. If you haven't heard it, you really should. Either way, it's a great song. GN'R rules!

submissions
Guns N' Roses – Sweet Child O' Mine Lyrics 15 years ago
Slash is so freakin' amazing! He was just messing around in the studio one day, and started playing the intro, and Axl loved it, and the rest is history. Great song, but not my favorite of GN'R. They have much better stuff, imo.

submissions
Guns N' Roses – Nice Boys Lyrics 15 years ago
That's like my motto- "nice boys don't play rock and roll" Need we say anymore?

submissions
Guns N' Roses – Move To The City Lyrics 15 years ago
The come on and hit me might just be because it rhymes and sounds cool... I really don't know. There should definitely be more comments on this- especially is you have live era. Axl's vocals and the instrumentals at the end are awesome. GN'R rocks!

submissions
Nickelback – Animals Lyrics 15 years ago
This song rocks so hard! It's the song that made me get into Nickelback. Such an awesome, albeit extremely dirty song. I just have to roll down the windows and crank it out!

submissions
Guns N' Roses – Bad Apples Lyrics 15 years ago
You can tell Axl is sick of all the criticism he's recieved. This, along with "Don't Damn Me" show that- he wants them all to just leave him alone.

submissions
Guns N' Roses – You Ain't The First Lyrics 15 years ago
This girl thinks he really needs her, so she messes around and thinks he'll still want her, and he's letting her know she means nothing to him- that she's "just a temporary lover", she "ain't the first." Such an awesome song- totally sticks it to the girl. This song also shows GN'R didn't need Axl- the songs without him are some of the best.

submissions
Van Halen – Bottoms Up! Lyrics 15 years ago
I can't believe no one has commented on this- it's such a great song! Not much to explain for meaning- it's purdy dang straight-forward. I don't drink, but if I did, I would blast this song whenever I did. It's such a fun song.

submissions
Van Halen – Amsterdam Lyrics 15 years ago
I've always thought of it as a woman he sees dancing through the window- "a little thick in the bottom, but still lookin' alright." I don't know, that's just what I've thought. I love this song though- it always gets me pumped.

submissions
Foreigner – Jukebox Hero Lyrics 15 years ago
I think one can draw a metaphor from anything- why shouldn't you be able to relate one thing to another. Not that this song needs any of that- it's a straight-up great song.

submissions
Steve Miller Band – The Joker Lyrics 15 years ago
Uh... do I really have to explain the "shake your tree"? Look at the previous line- "Really love your peaches," and think of the AC/DC classic "You Shook Me All Night Long." I think it becomes clear. Anyway, this is such a great song- I always have to sing it at the top of my lungs.

Rush – 2112 Lyrics 15 years ago
Vi brought up the question earlier of who it was who has "assumed control," and said it must have been some outside force unseen earlier in the song. As I understood it, these are the remnants of the elder race, who had moved away, grown stronger, and now are returning. This is shown in V Oracle: The Dream.
"They left the planet long ago
The elder race still learn and grow
Their power grows with purpose strong
To claim the home where they belong
Home to tear the Temples down...
Home to change!"
Just thought I'd point that out. Absolutely amazing song- I was thrilled to see "Anthem" is on my reading list for English, so I'll have to read it. I figure if Neil will dedicate a masterpiece like this to it, it must be worth reading. Anyway... Rush rules!

submissions
Megadeth – Kill The King Lyrics 15 years ago
I like at the very end when everything else kind of drops off, and Dave says "king." I don't know... I just think it sounds cool.

submissions
Rush – Hand Over Fist Lyrics 15 years ago
I love this song- no idea what it's supposed to be about- the chorus seems like the game rock, paper, scissors, which is kind of funny. Great song, though

submissions
Green Day – Boulevard of Broken Dreams Lyrics 15 years ago
This song is soooo annoying! It was alright the first, say, 10 times I heard it, but I'm so sick of it now I could puke. I swear, radio stations have no taste in music. This song is hecka lame... it really doesn't have any good qualities- the lyrics are repetitive and trite, the guitar playing is awful, and the singer is a freak. Green Day SUCKS!

submissions
Green Day – Wake Me Up When September Ends Lyrics 15 years ago
I absolutely hate this song- it's awful, yet they feel a need to play it 20 times a day. At work, they play it at least every day, and it completely pisses me off... I have to stop myself from going crazy. Seriously, green day has near no musical talent- they just play power chords. And their new stuff is even worse- their older songs are at least tolerable, but this is just plain awful.

submissions
Van Halen – Feelin' Lyrics 15 years ago
I'm a huge Van Halen fan, and, judging by the number of posts, one of the only ones to see what a great song this is. There's so much more emotion to it than most of their songs- some days, I just sit back and listen to this song, and it just speaks to me. I completely feel the line "outta touch most the time- got too many things on my mind." Great guitar work, great vocals, and I love the changes in tempo. When it first picks up, and Sammy screams "Yeah! Feelin'!"... oh man, blows me away...

Guns N' Roses – Sympathy for the Devil (Rolling Stones cover) Lyrics 15 years ago
C'mon, ledhed- true, Jagger's a legend (don't get me wrong, I love the stones), but so is Axl. I don't think Jagger's vocals sound at all appropriate for being the devil. The original's a good song, but I don't think the Stones even did justice to their own song. The "solo" was, at the risk of being hated, kind of lame and the song as a whole wasn't hard or dark enough, but the GN'R version fixed that. I think GN'R did the song the way it was supposed to be done.

submissions
Guns N' Roses – Live And Let Die (Paul McCartney cover) Lyrics 15 years ago
The GN'R version is so much better than Paul's- it rocks so much harder- seems appropriate for the lyrics.

Skid Row – I Remember You Lyrics 15 years ago
man, metalhead, you gave a cool mom! Anyway, this is my favorite monster ballad of all time- so many smooth lines- "I live for your smile and die for your kiss," "But nothing else could ever take you away, 'Cause you'll always be my dream come true" just to name a couple. Sebastian has an amazing voice- it works perfectly for this song. Kind of weirdly femmy looking, though... I guess girls think he's good-looking...
