Ther styles and music may have changed but it... is... still...KORN... (sigh) If you're so ashamed of being a Korn fan, then just say you're a fan of their old stuff. Life is Peachy Korn would actually probably be fucking amazed their band has lasted this long, has this many fans, and is still making music. I think that's mainly all that matters to them: Making music, and having fans. Truth is, Korn hated Life is Peachy because they had to do it in such a short time. Actually, LIP Korn might be surprised one of them hasn't died from alcohol poisoning ($20,000 on alcohol during Follow the Leader. Many people think they sold out after Issues, which is after they [or at least Jon, who 'restricted' himself to 15 Jack and cokes per night after his son Nathan was born during LIP] went sober. Is that saying something?) There have been many, many bands that have struggled throughout history, not just Korn and Metallica. I hear you're a fan of their old stuff... but you say that Head was the highest talent in the band, then I look at other stuff, and then you say that he's not a good guitarist and cannot do solos. What...? It may not be Korn in your eyes, but I still think it's Korn. You may want to look at my journal... go to the block of text after all of the music videos embedded on there... Anyway, yes, I admit that this song is far, far from the ones I listen to. But damn. They have enough songs, one freaking song shouldn't spoil the entire Korn sound. This is one of my favorites off of TALITM. The bag pipes at the begining do fit well... This song is so underrated. I agree with Freak off his leash (cool user name!) on the meaning. This is just another of their fight songs, with 'Right Now' and 'Wake Up Hate'. The kind that if you listen to them if you're in a bad mood, you may go out on a berserking rampage. "Break you now! Mercy I cannot allow! Through your face my fist will plow! Watching as your blood falls down! Let's do this now!" Love that part. Love their 'kill everyone you see just because you're pissed off' songs. |

rhavin, Shut the hell up and let Jonathan and Korn do what they want with their music. This isn't their best song, but hell. It gets me worked up, and I like it. It helps me vent anger I keep inside, along with other songs of theirs. Jonathan did say it's about starting a riot, but I wouldn't consider this 'evil'. He has a reason for doing so, saying that kids don't really have anything left to live for, that they go through school, get meaningless jobs, or go kill, rob, and shit like that. He's angry about this, and this is a song about it. He isn't bitching (to me), true anger stays with you forever, and he lets it out in his songs. He's trying to kill off his anger, and he seems happier now than he did in '94, with self-titled. No one can stay THAT mad for THAT long, unless his entire being was shattered into millions of pieces. Their music has matured over the years (But the old stuff still kicks major ass, hands down.), and a lot of people STILL like their music, after years and years. They've accepted that bands change, and they support Korn in their rise in popularity, realizing that, Hey-- maybe Jonathan isn't as mad now as when he was when they first showed up! Imagine that! They've managed to stay this long, with as many fans as they have, so they have to be doing something right. Sorry, but I just wanted to get this point across. PS: Jonathan is against orginized religion, although he respects Brian's (Head's) choice of leaving for religion. They still kick ass IMO, and also, 'grow the fuck up'? Go through your life with nothing but hatred, make a band, make seven platinum albums, get millions of fans whom you love and appreciate, THEN say 'grow the fuck up'. |

This is a good song... it's just flows smoothly... that didn't sound right. But yeah, this song does focus more on David and Fieldy's playing, they rock. The only instrumental Korn song with few spoken words... and I think Jonathan says "Pleasent things... I feel..", but that's just what I hear. Notice how both the self-titled and Follow the Leader cover sleeves both show porn magazine covers. And no, Foop, it's porno. Look at the CD, it says it clearly. This is a very relaxing song... and it does seem like the music someone would play during a porno. |

I feel a bit like a wuss, but the first time I heard this song and really got into the meaning, I cried a little... I also go with the 'lack of meaning in your life' meaning, because I felt like that sometimes... when I was going through school, day after day, exactly the fucking same, and I felt a little meaningless... but I've gotten rid of that hollow feeling, and I'm glad. It just follows him around as he make believes... He finds himself always in a world of misery and hate, so he make believes and sings to become free with the lingering feeling of torment and pain always looming over his shoulder... I love this song... Not the very, very, absolute best from Untouchables, but I love it just as much. I love how he sings "And the shit seems to follow..." It sounds creepy. They rarely do it now, and when they do, it's either instruments only, no vocals, or the beginning: "Mother... please forgive me..." etc., right before Shoots and Ladders. Sometimes now, but rarely, they'll play the instrumentals to this song without Jonathan singing. And, also rarely, before 'Shoots and Ladders', Jonathan will sing the intro to 'Daddy', "Mother, please forgive me......" etc. I always have to listen to the breakdown in this song fully... I just have a weird thing about Jonathan breaking down... It's scary, almost, to hear him like that. It's so emotional. Oh, and people, by now you should know this isn't about his dad. It was a family friend or neighbor... This song is one of the only reasons why I got self-titled... I heard all of this stuff about this song, so I just had to get it... and when I heard it for the first time... wow. Just wow. I could barely listen to it all the way through... Poor Jonathan. This is one of my favorite songs by them... I always like the end song off of every one of their albums. I cried a little the first time I heard it... a beautiful song, really. Awww... =( Poor Jonathan. I always thought the Land of Makebelieve was kinda fucking weird... Actually, looking back, that whole show was kinda weird... And a tip for future Childrens shows: DON'T have an old, creepy man as the host, and DON'T have a person on there that goes by the name Mr. McFeely. That shit's just wrong. Yeah... Jonathan watched this show while tripping out on drugs...Mr. Rogers + Drugs + Schizophrenia + Jonathan Davis = ...Actually, a good combination. This is one of their better songs off of Life is Peachy, to me. I like how he sings it. Korn is one of the only bands that can make a song about Mr. Rogers that kicks ass. And to Donnie T... Apparently, Mr. Rogers didn't help EVERYONE. His ways of politeness only caused Jon MORE problems later on in life. I've forgotten what he used to talk about... This would be a good song to a horror-freak-out movie soundtrack... I've wanted to play the song backwards, to see if it sounds the same front and back, because hearing it, the backwards part sounds louder than 'in the background'. Gyaaahahahaha...... I love this song. It's about drugs... weed, I think... I don't know. They all did play different instruments, Jon = Drums, David = Bass, Fieldy = Vocals (With Cheech), Head & Munky = Switched guitar parts. I've seen videos of them doing this song in concert, it's true! And it is a track... they included it on 'Live and Rare' as track #12, as well as the secret song on Follow the Leader. And Fieldy does sound disturbingly like Cheech... I like the way Fieldy laughs (or whoever laughs in there... ), it makes me laugh. KORN RULES! AWESOME COVER!! |
