It was a song he wrote for his girlfriend... as he explains on the Damn Skippy commentary. As they were both geeks in love, it just makes sense.

And I had to look it up somewhere. It was such a odd, yet funny song. The funniness factor was kinda upped by the animation, though. It's a really good flash, see it. Copy+Paste to your browser. The meaning is pretty simple, to me. Geeks in love are looked down upon by 'popular' people, but the truth is, the 'popular' people actually envy geeks in love. This is a very good song ^.^ Don't we all wish we were geeks in love...

yeah... I guess you have to be esoterically far out to enjoy this song. it really spoke to me the first time i watched the video. made me feel like i had hope.
While the lyrics are obviously meant to be humorous, the song doesn't seem to speaking down to anybody or trying to be really hip or something. It has geniune emotion. I think that adds a lot to it.
