Fix what’s wrong, but don’t rewrite what the artist wrote. Stick to the official released version — album booklet, label site, verified lyric video, etc. If you’re guessing, pause and double-check.
Respect the structure
Songs have rhythm. Pages do too. Leave line breaks where they belong. Don’t smash things together or add extra empty space just for looks.
Punctuation counts (but vibe-editing doesn’t)
Correct typos? Yes. Re-punctuating a whole verse because it ‘looks better’? Probably not. Keep capitalization and punctuation close to the official source.
Don’t mix versions
If you’re editing the explicit version, keep it explicit. If it’s the clean version, keep it clean. No mashups.
Let the lyrics be lyrics
This isn’t the place for interpretations, memories, stories, or trivia — that’s what comments are for. Keep metadata, translations, and bracketed stage directions out unless they’re officially part of the song.
Edit lightly
If two lines are wrong… fix the two lines. No need to bulldoze the whole page. Think ‘surgical,’ not ‘remix.’
When in doubt, ask the crowd
Not sure what they’re singing in that fuzzy bridge? Drop a question in the comments and let the music nerds swarm. Someone always knows.
It's funny how Jon can sum up life in 5 lines. I agree with dpf as well, they do know how to start an album (but untouchables is a little iffy to me). Strange but great song. Rock On!
Its quite easy to relate to this song. Its about everytime you get ahead ( your life just flows, and all is well ) some fucked up shit comes in your way, everything falls to pieces, and you end up feeling dead.
I just think it was the perfect song to start the album with...they are the best at being able to pick the intro song. "Blind" "Twist" "It's On" "Dead"..."Here to Stay" is ok...but...you get the point.

a happy sounding song with depressing lyrics what could be better.
jon means that in one way of winning "everytime i get ahead" he loses in another way "i feel more dead"

this song means everytime he tries he just winds up dead
The ultimate song to listen to while reflecting on how much your life totally sucks : )
I thought the lyric was "Everytime I get head" as in summat to do with groupies and how they just want to have sex with you cos you're famous
I think that it says "every time i get head" because a lot of the CD "Issues" is themed around sex... but both versions work.
