Yeah, I think this song in when you all of the sudden realize that you're head over heels for someone, and it's like a light in the darkness. You used to think nothing could touch you, and it comes a a complete surprise when this person breaks through all of your defenses, but in a good way. They've saved you and you do things you would never do otherwise just for them.
I love how honest he is in this song. It's the most amazing song I've heard in a really long time. |

I've never really liked how it starts with the "I'm... alive... tonight..." but I love Sherwood's songs, so I knew if I kept listening, I would love it. And I do. Especially at the end when I thought the song was over, and the beautiful little verse-dealy comes on right as I parked my car and grabbed the key to turn it off. Let me tell you, it gave me chills. Sherwood is amazing, and I love how honest and wonderful the lyrics are. :) I think I've been OD'ing on Sherwood for the last couple of days- I can't get the songs out of my head. |

I love the last verse. I went to a concert ans saw Chris Tomlin and he said that the last verse was cut out from the original song, but it was found among the papers. Something to that effect. But it was insanely cool when he sang it in concert. |

My interpretation is about the feeling of always being the person other people want you to be and finally letting go of that. When that happens, the singer finds himself with the one he loves, but throughout the process, he's afraid he is dreaming and can't decide whether or not he wants to wake up. My favorite line is "This is the smile I've never shown before." Great song. |
